The quaife I think will mount on the rear of the XI.

If you get a rear diff it's about all that you need. Rear will slip way sooner.

Recommend ECU re-flash

I would like to see AMS produce an ECU re-flash that produces some decent power, gets rid of the top speed limiter, and is affordable. Also, as was mentioned before, XI models need not be forgotten, especially when it comes to suspension.

Gumpy.

AMS is the shizzle. Can't wait to see their products for the N54 platform. Affordable and proven power FTW!

One single GT35r making around 450-500 rwhp and I'm ALL-IN BABY!

Seriously...

Two small turbos will get you a decent amount of low end torque but as you are experiencing now they just cant hang on. Putting a larger (maybe gt30R) on the fairly large 6cyl on the N54 would spool VERY quick and hold MUCH better in the rpm band. We will be looking at both options...single and twin.

Keep in mind on a small displacement EVO with a 2.0 liter motor you can achieve 20lbs of boost by 3600 RPM with our turbo kit.

That same turbo on a 2.3 engine will hit that boost level at about 3200 rpm.

now take that same turbo and put it on a motor with over 50% more displacement and exhaust gas...WOW that's a fast spooling turbo.

We could very easily make a single kit spool like a twin and give you more peak power performance

Eric

hahah thats what I told the guys in the back about my car. "screw this bolt on stuff, slap a GT35R on there and lets call it a day" LOL

We do want to see what we can do with the stock stuff though. We want to really break this car down and see how we can make it better.

I will have some teardown pics for you a little later on

Well we got the car on the dyno for a baseline pull before we start slapping prototype parts on her. SAE Correction on our Dynojet 424X she put down 260whp and 280 ft lbs.

We also pulled of the stock airbox lid to see if it picked up any power. Some were reporting some pretty big numbers. Well we tried it and she picked up a whopping 2 hp LOL. We will see what intake we design can do for the car.

The big numbers with the lid off come after a tune, not on a stock car. 8psi is different than 15psi...but you knew that.

Eric, is it realistic to expect that AMS will have a turbo kit ready for the public within the next year and a half? I ask this because I would want it done at your shop, no matter the distance, before I leave for Europe.

I would like to have something for that car in under a year...even with casting.

so the car was tuned then a test was done with the stock lid and then the lid removed?

I'm sure the gain would be bigger but I'm still a bit skeptical. But hey, that's why we test on the dyno

i cant wait to see the limits of this n54 engine. I guess AMS will push this car to its limits. I am very excited to see what AMS can do. Keep us posted with the progress you make on this car, and i hope one day one of our n54's can be a part of your record braking signature.
