intercooler install--problems removing bumper

Hi everyone,

i'm seeking help from anybody who removed the front bumper on an e90 335i.

i removed:
4 screws under the hood,
2 screws in the wheel arch from each side (4 total)
7 screws under the car.

the bumper is still stuck on both sides.

any ideas?

thanks

marv

If you're installing the ETS 5" FMIC then you don't need to remove the bumper.

You lifted the plastic and unscrewed the screws underneath the plastic that you have to look up at? The ones that bolt the bumper to the rest of the car?

You kinda have to pop it out with a little force, but make sure all the screws are out first.

You have to lift up the plastic. In the corner of the bumper, there should be two bolts that bolts the bumper to the car. They go upwards.

two bolts on each side right? crap, i cant do the inner ones since my wheels are on. dont have a jack... (the car is lifted with service ramps)

assuming i do have a jack, and my wheels are off, how do yo get to the inner screw? (closer to the headlight) will i have to remove the plastic as well?

I jack up the car and leave it on jack stands and turn the steering wheel to get access. Then I undo the bolts holding the plastic wheel well in place. And then I force it out of the way with one hand while using the other to undo the bolts.

When working on the driver side of the vehicle, turn the wheels all the way to the left. Now take the fender liner and push it very hard and tuck it in against the wheel so that the back of the wheel is now holding the fender liner out of the way. Insert wifes/moms/gf's small makeup mirror into the wheel well area and look for the screw and undo it.

I can undo mine without a jack on a car that's lowered with the fenders tucking the tire so you can definitely do it on your car without any jacks etc...

Let me know if my explanation was a bit unclear
