WOuldn't you have to let the insurance company inspect it beforehand and then they will adjust the premium accordingly to cover the mods no?

doesnt work the same in my case, the other drive was at fault, its not my policy that is responsible for replacing my car. Since the other driver is at fault I've been told that his insurance will have to pay me for replacing my parts as well as the car.
