Logic 7 - Optimal EQ settings

I have set to your settings yesterday and it is very good. strong midrange, clear instruments, lacking some Bass at +1 but i can fix that.

Like you i enjoy a WIDE range of music from Judy Garland to Eminem. This is a very versatile setting and so it is fantastic.

When you say turn off logic 7, what do you mean by that. How exactly is this done, I havent messed with my settings since i got the car over a year ago, so i dont recall the menu and I dont have my car now, but i do experience the in and out of music in the rear.

Im so excited to do this and I dont have my car right now. Tomorrow morning. Thanks for doing the legwork Malekreza.

I'll try your settings this week Malekreza11. Im still trying to find a way to get as much bass as i can without overpowering my subs. maybe your settings will do the trick.

I used the new settings that Malekreza came up with. I guess im going to be one of the minority, but it just didnt work for me. Everything just sounded muffled, and the highs where very harsh. I know you usually want flat frequency response, but it just didnt sound appealing to my ears. Im going to try and use it for the next few days, but upon switching back to my old settings (similar to the one's on the first page), immediately i preferred the old ones. Anyone else experience this or is it just me!

I mentioned in my post, you can always adjust to HOW YOU LIKE IT.

These settings represent how the stereo SHOULD sound. By the way, if you used the settings on the first page, which are totally ridiculous because EVERYTHING is boosted, then any other setting is going to sound muffled to you.

The proper method to tuning car audio, is if a frequency sounds muffled, you reduce the frequences around that single freq. to boost its sound, not boost the actual frequency.

Another note, these settings are made to work with EVERY type of music. If The highs are too harsh, follow my uber long post, and reduce the TREBLE setting only.

I think the new settings really depend on the music you listen too. I also listen to a bit of house and trance and the new Malek setting just don't sound that good. I liked his previous setting using the Logic 7 Music processing. It seemed to give the music more depth and better sound. It seems to me the more synthetic the music the old settings suit it better, the less synthetic the music the better it sounds with the new settings.

The problem of country sounding horrible is just likely due to country music sounding horrible no matter what!

SETTINGS FOR LOGIC 7 - Coupe settings (the acoustics of a sedan are diff)

I posted this before but I modified it since and its amazing. I set it so it pretty much applies to all genres, as much as possible of course. just remember that when you adjust the Trb and Bas, they have to be EQUAL. so if treb is 5, then bas is 5. Enjoy!!!

Seems strange to design an eq wave with the intent of having the simple bass/treble boost as a necessary as well. Why not build the eq so that the bass/treble are FLAT at 0 for the majority of teh time, and can be tweaked up or down in rare cases, leaving the eq itself alone?

In the case above, they are at +6

which means the bass and treble ranges of the more detailed (and prefered) eq can be increased, and subsequently decrease the two settings back down to or close to 0.

I don't advise ANYONE to follow using these settings.

No offense man. These settings are far from ideal. Then again, if it sounds good to YOU, then by all means enjoy it. But these settings don't reproduce the music as it was intended.

Thanks for the excellent settings Malekreza11. I have an E90 and decided to try your E92 settings anyways, and still heard a great improvement over my old settings.

The only thing I did differently was that I'm a huge bass guy, so I tried 80Hz at 0, and max'd out my BASS. Even then, it still sounded really good at high volume. Can't wait until you find an E90 to experiment with, as I know using your E92 settings on an E90 is not optimal.

I still don't think that these stereo's are the pinnacle of automotive stereo's in OEM form, but it is still nonetheless great and the imaging is good for a factory car, especially the centralized bass focus.

For those who have the IPOD adapter as well.. make sure the IPOD internal EQ is turned off!

LOGIC 7 COMPLETELY OFF!!!

Prolly not but the interior is different so presumably the acoustics will be different too.
