Heated Steering

Was heated steering available as a stand alone option on an '07 E92 coupe or was it part of the Cold Weather package or was it even available at all? If so, what does the button for it look like?

I don't know if it was available stand alone but it definitely was part of the cold weather package at least in '09 - My '09 w/ ZCW has it. The switch is a button on the right hand side of the steering column. You can't see it unless you look for it.

There was a TSB about the heated steering wheel FYI. Mine had the issue that the TSB described - it would shut off after a few seconds after turning it on from a cold start. Replacing the control module inside the steering wheel with a new part seems to have rectified the issue.

I'm almost certain it was a stand alone option. Just like I-drive is a stand alone option, you can have all the packages (like mine for example) but no I-drive so I assume that too was stand alone, but I'm not sure it was available on 07 models anyways..at least it doesn't say on Motor Trend: http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2007/...kages_options/

EDIT:

I found out Pre-Lci didn't have that option as a stand-alone option either after reading through Motor Trend. N8N has it equipped on his 09 LCI with his Cold Weather Package and according to Motor Trend it's part of the Cold Weather Package on LCI not Pre-Lci

So the heated wheel wasn't available at all pre LCI?

I have an '07 e92. Heated steering wheel was definitely NOT an option.

in 2009 the coupe was still pre-LCI, and mine has the heated steering wheel. But I have the cold weather package so I don't really know for sure if it was a standalone option or not.

It would be nice if it were automatic; say when the temp is below 40 or something.

available staring in 09 as a stand alone option, for $190. And I believe there may have been a requirement that you ordered either heated seats or the ZCW to even be able to order the heated steering wheel. It was also not available on M-sport cars for the e9x generation.
