Anybody Else's Ride Currently on the ELEKTRA

Hi,

My E91 is currently in the middle of the Atlantic onboard the ELEKTRA due to arrive at the port of Halifax the 26 Feb 07.

The position of the ship can be followed using the website:

Does my baby have any friends that belong to other members here?

Pretty exciting to be able to follow the ship via GPS.

Well not technically but my ship gets in on the same day as yours! =) I tracked yours to kind of guess where the Ryujin is since NYK lines is super top secret about that stuff.

My E92 is on Elektra, too. It's supposed to arrive to Port Hueneme on March 12th.

I suppose it makes sense since the ship must go through the Panama canal to get to the west coast.

I tought I would never find anyone else on the Elektra with me! WOW. My E93 is on it. I was checking at the other bimmer fanatic sites and couldn't find anyone. Did you do European Delivery, or order it? I did a standard order. This wait is killing me!

Sorry. The ship will only do a quick stop in Halifax. It won't even stay the night. It most likely needs fuel so it has to stop here anyway. I am actually enjoying the wait this time. Ordered all my mods and some have started to arrive. Happy waiting.

So Jeff, you don't know what you're paying yet? Did you work out a deal with your CA on your car? It's this "not being able to pay for the car until it's on our lot" issue that's bugging me. I just don't want any last minute surprizes!

Well I didn't order an E93. The price of the E91 are well known and yes I have a deal negotiated and a deposit down. Also, I know the final amount I will have to pay once I take delivery.

This week I've gotta get going on ordering my new rims, and also scheduling the tint job! I also am going to visit my Credit Union to see what they can do for me.... but BMWFS has very competitive rates right now sooo

I was debating paying for the car full cash, but I don't want to tie up so much money into a car, I'm a worry wart

I do have my insurance lined up and ready to go.

Which rims would you choose? The Borbet's or the OZ. Both are 18"

It appears that The Elektra could possibly be behind schedule by about 6 hours. I think that it had to go Northbound over the Atlantic in order to avoid storms

It might dock at around 12pm PST. Let's hope they unload your car quickly so it can turn around and go full steam ahead to the Panama Canal! Let me know when you get your car, and post some pics!

Well the car will have to have a train ride to Montreal and then a truck ride to Sherbrooke. I didn't buy the car at the Halifax dealership in order to deal with a friend of mine in my home town. Result is I got a better deal but I have to wait a bit longer. It is ok since it is winter here and I took sport package with the staggered performance tires which are not good in winter condition. I planned for a mid April delivery so all is fine. I will post a full set of picture at delivery and another set of pics the mods will be completed. Personnaly I would choose the Borbet. They are classy and cheaper. Both wheels are fine choices though. You will probably get your car before me than you will to post some pictures.

Im on the Elektra aswell!!! but I have to wait for a long ride to Vancouver on the train. Any word on how long to get on a train considering the resent strike??

I think the strike is over with a fragile truce. So things should go back to normal as far as train transport goes.

The ELEKTRA is in port in Halifax unloading Canadian market bound cars! The ship has an ETD (Estimated Time of Departure) at 2100 tonight form Halifax. It is supposed to go through the Panama canal in Manzanillo the 5th March and then set sail to Port Hueneme CA and arrive there 12th March for an over night stay. Then the ship will croos the Pacific ocean to get to Yokohama Japan the 26th March.

My car got discharged at 2115hr. The ELEKTRA has also left Halifax for Panama canal. Be patient guys.

Got the info from tracking my VIN on this site:

http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/index.jsp

Under Customer Center, click Cargo Tracking then select auto cargo and then enter VIN.

As for CN tracking someone looked into it and it involves a fair bit of paperwork. Also with the strike I don't think you could get accurate tracking. I personnaly annoy my CA by calling when I want to know where the car is according to his system.
