Best aftermarket hands free kit ??

Been told that the Parrot kit with wheel intergration box is the best kit for the E90 Msport.

Anyone got it ?

Want the best one with steering wheel controls.

I've just had a parrot bluetooth kit fitted in my e93. The chap just finished 10 minutes ago and I had the little screen unit fitted in the ashtray as it is easy to access and hide away.

Initial impressions are good but of course I haven't really used it properly yet. I'll post some pictures sometime over the weekend when I get 5 minutes and give you a proper evaluation as I think I'll be playing with it a fair bit.

The Motorola T605 is an interesting option... it doesn't have a caller ID display or steering wheel controls (which could very well be a deal breaker) *but* it supports A2DP music. It has a "stereo audio" output separate from the call-voice speaker that you can plug into your aux in on the stereo, and it has an aux-in passthru jack that you can still use for other devices.

Copied this over from a thread I had in the Bluetooth Forum. Hope it helps.

Right I've had a bit of a play and it's not too bad. While I've been out this morning I've made and received several call and it works fine. I had optional link fitted so you can use the steering wheel controls as well which again works fine.

The conveniance factor is that you never need to take the phone out of your pocket. You get in turn on the ignition and it connects. Of corse the downside is it doesn't charge the phone battery but then I've got a cable for this and can stick it in the arm rest to charge.

As I said the screen is hidden in the front ashtray so I can hide it away from prying eyes. Here are the pictures:

Now you see it

Now you don't

Looks good Miopyk, with a Dremmel and some black plastic that could be made to look OEM and still be hidden when needed. Check out Peppernicks Audio controller in the same place.

You're right, I would like to tidy it up a bit. If I get round to it I'll post some pictures.

It's the CK3100 and all in including fitting it was £270 + VAT but that included the additional cable and stuff to use the buttons on the steering wheel which I think was about £60-70 on it's own.

The company I used was local to me in Berkshire but here's a link to another company I was looking at http://www.fitbluetooth.co.uk/

I'm getting a new parrot kit fitted on Tuesday. My old one died a few weeks ago. (got frustrated with it when it kept dropping calls - bashed the living daylights out of in frustration )

I won't mention the manufacturer as I work for them

Not sure about installing into ashtray as it looks a bit like a bodge job.
Rather plant it on the dash.

There is a colour version of the parrot - looks quite good. But my company want me to have the ck3100

148+VAT for fitting
