Yeah and it edged out the atom in lap times which did upset me a little...

I know I am not the biggest ferrari fan, but the 458 did win me over.

We do track days there from time to time.

A passenger is not a good idea for your first time out unless it's someone with some knowledge. Lots to learn and lots can go wrong if you don't know whats going on. And if something does you need to know insurance won't cover anything that may happen. So taking it easy and getting good coaching the first few times is a good start. Lots of clubs offer driving schools and it's a great place to start.

You will need a SA rated helmet, and lots of water for you to drink. Torque wrench for wheels, a jack, and air pressure guage are all good things to have as well.

I also do Autocross which is local to here in des moines. It's a lot of fun and a great way to start out.

Here is a link to the local forum for that. Our next even is in two weeks at oskaloosa. Awesome site!!! They have loaner helmets and are great about getting newbies up and running. Highly recommend it.

I won't be at the next one due to me being in Wisconsin but definitly go out. There are tons of helpful people there! If you go let me know and I will tell the organizer to put you with someone to help you get started.

Otherwise I'm designing the course and running the September event and would be happy to have you out there.

Is autocross just like track but with cones? Do i have to slam the car in reverse and shit like that? I think ive seen that before. But I would like to try it

If you use reverse autocrossing you are doing something VERY wrong, lol. Plus a little hard on the transmission I would assume.

Yes they set up a track in a huge lot with cones and you run that. Fastest time is the goal and each cone you hit is a 2 second penalty.
