Communication is key here ... I suggest you "communicate" your feelings/displeasure to the kid. I'll leave it to you to do it in a positive or negative(violent) way ... no sense getting all stewed up about it, action is required.

I would file report with police without worrying about being harsh. Tell your friends that somebody messing with your car and mention that you have filed your report, so word will get out... You don't know for sure who is doing things, so you better to warn as much people as possible. Plant some fear for some piece of mind.

Look, in 'real life' (meaning, after school in this case) there can be and often are consequences to one's actions. You would be teaching him that. Two things could happen I suppose: A visist from the local police scare the crap out of him, bring down the wrath of his parents, and he knocks it off. Or - he escalates as retaliation, and gets himself locked up.

As I say - cause and effect, and consequences of one's actions. I would definitely talk to the dean, and let him know if anything ~at all~ happens you want a police report filed. Heck, I might be inclined to just skip the dean and go to the police.

Did your parents offer an opinion?
Sounds good but the police have gone to his house before and his parents IMO could care less. I dont know ill go to the dean and possibly file a report. I havent told my parents yet, i will after i go to the dean tomarrow. This is my war to fight. Hopefully it doesnt escalade in to anything more.

Definately go to the administration. If that doesn't get anything done then bring some papers containing serious ramifications if he doesn't stop. By papers i mean let him know that you will get authorities involved. That should persuade him to stop. Im really sorry to hear about this. By the way, why are you freindly with the kid if he keeps $hitting on you?

Oh and i had a 1991 Bimmer in high school. That was about 7 years ago though.

Also, don't most schools, especially private ones, have policies regarding the destruction of other people's property? I went to a public school and im sure we had things in place to keep this kind of stuff at bay.

You would think that someone at a private school would have been taught to have respect for other people's property, unless his parents are trash!

Do you have a Camcorder?? Same thing happened to my friend last year at my school. Some stupid ass kid was hocking loogies on his car on a daily basis. So he planted 2 cameras on tripods in the back of his car getting different angles from the inside, and let the cameras record the entire day. Guess what? He caught the kid on tape Took it straight to the administration, and threatened to file a police report.

edit: make sure you throw some blankets or something over the camera and tripod with just the lens peeping out so the kid/other people can't see it. Worst thing would be for ur car to get broken into and ur cameras stolen

Just take it to the police. I'd probably prefer sticking pebbles up his butt like someone else said but it would be better to just get the authorities involved. I don't know why you would take anything that anyone is dishing out. You had mentioned that this is about the 3rd or 4th time. You have to stand up for yourself otherwise you will be stepped all over for the rest of your life. This isn't just about the BMW...its about how you should handle confrontations.

O I know i have to stand up for myself i just honestly thought he would stop and those would be the only times, i guessed wrong so now im going to have to take it a step further and go to the administration. The camera idea sounds good but he doesnt do it every day, this is spread out over a 5 week period.

have you talked to the kid who's doing it, and told him to stop?

Ask him why he's doing it......

Hey I had a BMW when I was 17 too, but it was an 87 (in 1995)

I'd get a very large fishing hook, impale his spine with it, hook it to the chassis of the car, and drag him across town.

Never mind about being nice and trying to work it out with him. Get the cops on his sorry @$$. Don't worry, he'll get what he deserves. Good luck with everything.

90210

Holy crap, 16 and 17 year olds parking their Bimmer at school? What is this, Beverly Hills 90210? Of course the kid is jealous. If he makes butt marks on your car, I'd let it go. If he keys it, then I would go to administration. You don't have to name him (heck, you wouldn't have proof...yet). Sounds to me that a school like this would have parking lot cameras. I would just tell them that your car is being vandalized, and that you'd like surveillance cameras put up, or something to that effect. They won't go after a kid without proof anyway, as I'm sure half the parents at this school are affluent enough to sue their asses for just guessing.

If you're really into the spy thing (I think he's getting what he wants by getting your attention) I suppose there's some powder you could dust your car with that will only show up under black light. That would be amusing. Sounds like you could afford a shock sensitive security system, though.

If you make too big a deal about this, he's gonna spend all day thinking of things he can do to your car. Really, you have to weigh your options as far as escalation goes. You beat his ass up, he crowbars your windows, makes you test your run-flat technology, or gets a bunch of friends to go after you. Maybe he makes pipe bombs in his spare time. You both get suspended, etc. You may end up looking like a whiney rich kid instead of a victim.

You know how they say "Living well is the best revenge?" well really, you get him twice a day every day as he has to hitch a ride, walk, or take the bus, whatever, to get home. He hates knowing that you're riding with style. You're already killing him. That's why he's motivated to take it out on your car. Heck, looks like half the posters here don't think you deserve to own one, and they're BMW enthusiasts!

30K+ detailing yachts? I should have skipped medical school. Took me decades to afford my first Bimmer. If you can find a way to make the money, I have no problem with you. That's capitalism.

hey baller, tell his parents if u know them! or talk to the dean, man if i were u i would just tell the cops...ask the cops to hide somewhere while watchin ur car, so if this kid messes with ur car again, the cop will have solid evidence..vandalism is a serious issue imho especially when its at school!

LOL! Ten years of schooling/internship here for my e90. First car was a rusted 84 corolla with 170k miles. In retrospect, I would not change a thing. Makes the e90 experience so much better. By the time these kids turn 30 they will probably need a ferrari to satisfy themselves
