Exclamation Need a Job ASAP!!

Hey guys, I'm in desperate need of a job since budget cuts are killing us students and there isn't enough room in college. I was working at a clothing store for a while but wasn't my cup of tea so I quit (bad move) I should have found a job before I quit. I have a nice work background in customer service working at a medical clinic and a independent computer store along with that clothing store I mentioned. I also speak fluent Farsi and some Spanish. I have a resume ready to go more in depth on my experiences and skills but obviously I just didn't want to bore anyone with it in this post.

I've been looking around but haven't had much luck. It seems EVERYONE I know is always hooked up with a job and I figured why not ask the guys on the forum. I'll work almost anything a 18 year old can work within the SoCal SFV (preferably Tarzana, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Northridge, Woodland Hills, Van Nuys). Shoot me any offers or even ideas I would really much appreciate it and it would help a ton. Thanks guys

-Michael

EDIT: 10/23/2013

Thanks guys but this thread is almost a year old and I'm going to school at CSUN now full-time 5 days a week. I had a year off last year because things didn't work out with school so I had too much free time but its all good now Thanks again! Oh and I ended up working at A&F (another clothing store) last time I'll ever do that...

You should look into Tutoring. Some jobs pay $20 an hour and its basic stuff you have to teach. I worked for a company called academic advantage during my college years and that got me enough money to get by...

Tried that..no one really hires a waiter straight up like that, they told me I need restaurant experience.. starting out as a host I assumed. I'm going to apply as a host I guess at a few places too.

But tips is where you would be making the most in the restaurant industry

At my work its 8 per hour for everyone and bussers/expo/hostess make 1/2 hourly on the tip clock. Servers are 1/1 on the tip clock.

My paycheck are straight up shit because our taxes on tips come out of our hourly wages. Basically I onyl care about getting my cash tips at the end of the night.

If you can find a place thats hiring for a busser then I would say definitely apply. If you get hired just bust your ass as a busser and stay on the managers case about getting promoted to a server.

Thanks for the tips, if things don't work out with this bank that I'm going through interviews with I'll definitely do that. I also heard a Staples around me is hiring..but I think they also make minimum wage
