Road Trip to Boston.

Hi Guys,
I'm taking a road trip with my girlfriend up to Boston this weekend. It's sort of my first time there. I went there when I was younger, but I really can't remember anything. Can anyone give me suggestions as to things to do or see. Also, what part of town should I look for a hotel? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Don't stay in the south side of the city, coz that's where my med school and hospital is, not really that safe. If you are splurging, stay in Back Bay or the Financial District. Hunter (hunter399) last time stayed at a swanky one called Onyx Hotel close to MGH and Spaulding Rehab. Otherwise, there are some reasonable choices in Waltham, Burlington, or Woburn.

The Onyx hotel looks pretty nice. Is that close to everything? I might reserve a room here if the location is good...

Yes, excellent advice. It's real easy to bubble a sidewall or bend a rim with the massive craters we have around here right now. Friend of mine just lost a OEM runflat last night to a pothole.

Where to begin, Fenway, Cheers, restaurants, just have a good time, I was just up there 3 weeks ago for work, no time to sightsee but Boston is an incredible city.

Well, because of the snow storm that's suppose to arrive tomorrow here in NJ, and up there in Boston. I've decided to just travel there by bus. I'm taking the Bolt Bus from NY to BOS. $34 round trip for me and my girlfriend. I guess that would be better than driving through the snow storm with my own car, and having to pay $40 a day for valet parking. The bus also has free Wi-fi and plug outlets..

Hit up --> Karoun Restaurant in Newton. Best Armenian food, oh and if you don't get the Chicken Kabob w/ garlic, its not worth going

Those should be really nice hotels near the beacon hill area, but I have never stayed stayed in either. Since you're staying around that area, you can check out the Fanieul Hall (freedom trail), The North End (similar to little Italy) Boston Common (mini version of Central park) , Charles Street (Beacon Hill neighborhood), The bar, Cheers is a couple blocks down the street, Newburry St and Copley for shopping, Fenway Park in Kenmore Sq. You can go accross the river to Cambridge to check out Harvard and MIT if that's your thing. You can also try the Duck Tours, it'll take you around Boston for about $30-$40/person. When you have a chance drive over to memorial drive and you can see the charles river and Boston's skyline like my signature below.

As for places to eat, it all depends on your budget. Near the hotel you're staying there's this place called the Federalist ($$$$), For Steak Houses try Ruth Chris it's walking distance from your hotel or Capital Grille it's on Newburry or Abe & Louie on boylston st, The North End for Italian, Chinatown (Jumbo Restaurant for dinner or China Pearl for Dim Sum), for burgers try Bartley's Burger near harvard college. If the weather is nice try going for lunch at Top of the Hub at the Prudential, you'll get to see all of boston. i wouldn't recommend going to dinner there but drinks/dessert there are alright too.

As for night life - Check out Gypsy Bar, Whiskey Park or go towards Fenway Park for more of a Sports Bar feel.

Well hope you and your GF enjoy your stay in Boston!
