Not a good idea. My suggestion would be DO NOT let them prep the car for you BMW paint is very soft. Just Zaino the car your self you would not regret it. If the dealer prep your car i'm sure it would become swirl city.

Is it like the paint sealant stuff other (non-BMW) dealers offer?
I got paint seal for a Toyota with dark metallic paint and it turned out good. No swirl marks.
But we might be talking about totally different things.

Paint Warranty

I purchased a 2004 BMW 330ci (Jet Black) and went with the paint protection from the dealer in Kitchener at the time. It looked great and I got a lot of complements on it. Paid $500 for it back then. I have just bought the new 335i (Space Grey, get it in May) and while tooling around the web I came accross the same exact process they used at the stealership for $69.95. Wash on wash off. It is called 5 Star Shine 1-866-395-7827 ext 100 and may be on the web at 5starshine.com. I still have the pamphlet BMW gave me and it is exactly the same as this one. I would bet $1000 this is where BK motors gets it from. I just ordered it yesterday and will do it myself when the car comes in. Check it out. You will not be disappointed.

What about a tire warranty in Canada? Do they offer one at what price and is there an outside agency we can get one.

This question keeps coming up. The pros on the forum have answered. If you can find the threads via search you get a lot of information. That said...no no no no no. Run away. Did I say no? I bought a gold 88 Accord that had this 'protection' on it already. While I would not pay for it, it was there. They were willing to take off the price even before I began the hard negotiating because this $400 option cost them next to nothing. I owned the car for 6+ years. I found no difference between how the paint held up on this car then a 89 accord that I had for 10 years without this so called protection. With regular care both help up quite nice. The BMW paint job puts the Honda paint to shame right out the the box. With proper care, you should be happy and a few bucks richer for telling the dealership, NO. Plus it fun telling them to go screw themselves after the negotiating is done.

Forget it. It's a high priced wax job.

Have a good detailer clean and wax/seal the car for $200....or do it yourself.

...."and avoid the scratch after waxing..."

That says it all. There is no wax, sealant, or product on earth aside from wrapping your car in plastic that will make the paint more or less susceptible to marring. The only way to not scratch your car is to wash it properly, paint protection or not.

just follow the new car prep sticky! you're paying $40,000+ for a car, why pay another $700 for them to wax it? the dealer will without a doubt put swirls and light scratches in the paint, and it will look so much worse than other colors since you're getting black. don't let the dealer touch the exterior at all, no wash no wax! do it yourself and it will turn out much better!!
