Anybody know whether the following setup is within 1%?

225/40/18 and 255/40/18? I had 245/40/18 square setup and didn't have any issues, not sure if the new set up would bring up issues with the XI system

Another thing to remember is that LCI models have LESS clearance in the rear than the non-LCI models. Its like 8mm less or so.

I'm looking at the apex arc-8 group buy, and its a 18x9" et30. Would this offset work for running a square 255/35r18 setup? I appreciate any help

I have 19x8.5 offset 35 and 19x9.5 offset 35 what's the best setup prelci ? I ask because my wheels are not the same witdh and I'm assuming the chart assumes they are. I don't want to go lower then 35 on rear what would match it on front to go staggered?

I am running 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear and getting a bit of surge shifting into second gear around 20mph +/-...... also under heavy acc it doesn't feel smooth either.....

Checking the calculators etc, seems the better fit on the rear is 275/30/19.....wondering if swapping out the rears would clear that up.

I know the size I have is pretty common, just wondering if there is a diff in tire manufacturers too......ran Falken FK453s last year and have PSS now...seems worse now.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

So I swapped out the 265/30/19 for 275/30/19 in the back and what a difference!!

Smooth as butter now.......word of caution to those with xi and running 235/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rears, there is a better fit!!

All the surging and "weirdness" is gone, so glad I swapped.

Makes sense as with the 265/30/19's the rears were turning almost 7x more per mile than the fronts....

19X9.5" ET 35

Dont know IF I should go with

225/35-19 & 255/30-19

Or

235/35-19 & 265/30-19

I have been looking ar The Goodyear assymetric 2 tyres

What sizes in tyres should i go with?? 😁

Glad to hear changing your rear tires worked out for you.

I would say in general people have had success running 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 (for others that are reading this thread.) It seems like the x-drive systems on these cars can be a little picky.

I would go with 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 based on the width of your wheels.

Hi guys,

I have been reading the thread and as I know x drive is allowed not more than 2% difference front vs rear tyres (corerct me if wrong)

So I was wondering something i am running 4x225 but on 8J and Et34 and 8.5J ET34

Looking at the calculators 245/40/17 vs 255/40/17 and 225/45/17 on 8J vs 245/40/17 8.5J doesnt go above 2%.

Do you think there will be a problem for the transfer case and the whole X drive if I use 225 and 245?

I don't believe BMW ever released an acceptable %difference, the factory staggers are 0.4% or less, 2% is a lot more than that.

for most tire brands, yes that would work. just might rub in the rear depending on offset.

I was mostly concerned with rolling difference.
The rear size is 19x9.5 ET22 with 275/30

you might rub if you are lowered. thats a pretty aggressive offset even for pre-lci if you have it. the reason i say most tire brands is because they all run different so the % might be slightly different for every tire. if you look on tire rack you can get the exact measures on there and do the calc yourself to be sure.
