For sale is a used but fully functional set of Focal 100 KP component speakers, consisting of:

(2) TN-52 tweeters (specs: http://www.zalytron.com/Specs/6_k3pTweeter.pdf)
(2) 4 K Slim Woofers (specs: http://www.focal.com/files/ft-100-krs.pdf)
(2) Passive Crossovers

Condition: Tweeters are in good condition, but they are missing the mounting cups. Woofers are in good condition. Crossovers are in good condition, but one of the plexiglass covers is missing.

I just got the MS8 - hoping you can answer a question I see alot of people talking about using passive and not (on diy forum). SO... Question, lets say I have the MS8 and for now I will use these with the ms8 amp (WILL THAT WORK)?

Second with the ms8 installed do I use the passive xovers or not? I am so confused after reading literally thousands of posts on here and diy about the ms8.

I guess my biggest confusion is how does it adjust all the xover and eq settings with the passive in there and once I install the msg where do I then get the speaker wires from? Do they go into the ms8 from the factory then out of the ms8 to an amp?

I normally would not tie up your thread like this but I am serious about the speakers.

Yes it will work but the achievable volume level may be too low for your liking.

You use the passive x-overs. There is no advantage going active in this situation. Besides, JBL recommends using passive crossovers between mids and tweeters.

It is actually quite simple. You set the MS-8 up the same way you have it now. The wires are already there. You just replace the door speakers, mount the passive crossovers in the door panels, then connect the OEM speaker wire to the passive crossover input, and run wires to the tweeters and the mids. The MS-8 will "see" the components as one speaker pair playing from roughly 150Hz all the way up. So the front is a "2-way", consisting of the door speakers and the underseat woofers. You just need to tell the MS-8 the crossover between the door speakers and the underseats - I recommend 150Hz at 24db/oct. with an aftermarket amp and 100Hz at 24db/oct with MS-8 power.
