Where did you all source the paddles. Tisher had problems finding them for me (stating the chromes were the latest ones they knew of)

You need the modified LCI paddles from Nexon Motors to work in pre-LCI car http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E81-E82-...item19c9132cdb

Anyone have a P/N so I can at least compare prices? The guy a Nexxon was pushing for his "full kit" which is over $600! I would rather shop around a bit and see how much I can do myself. Also what LCI is it referring to. I have a 2009 e90 and technically it's a LCI. What year/car did these paddles come out for? |

Nexon is very good about support and communication. you DEF dont need his full kit but i would highly recommend purchasing the paddles from him, as they WILL work, and then you can use this forum for the multitude of solutions for wiring.

I found two LCI paddle with difference price on ebay.
What's the difference of Nexxon's kit ? The price gap is quite large. My car is E90N LCI with Steptronics but no paddle on my sport steering wheel, so which one I should buy ? After the LCI paddle installed, can it activate on D drive or I need to shift to DS/M mode ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E87-1-...item19ca07a5c5 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E87-E9...item19c9341ac3 Last edited by danielh1018; 10-31-2011 at 05:26 AM.. |

i would buy from nexxon. great support, extremely fast shipping, and OE product.
one link you are buying the paddles PLUS his installation kit which also modifies the paddles. in the other link you are buying only the harness. If you buy just the harness from him, you will need to source your paddles elsewhere AND they will have to be modified to work with your car. you can buy his paddles only, ask that he modify them, then make your own harness. or buy everything in one stop, modified paddles + harness.

so do nexxon's "modified" LCI paddles work completely plug and play like stated in his ebay listing? No rewiring, programing, etc, just swap and go?

See my post 22 in this thread, I figured out how to make the paddles work, if you're a bit handy you can do the same

The schematic is the same as minus paddle, the resistor values are
a bit different but I don't measure then accurately.. You can almost read th evalue from my picture but it's a bit out of focus. If you search on the board you might find someone who wrote down the actual values, I've seen that somewhere but can't give you a pointer to it ..

Is there no way to make them work without removing the resistors?

My car was pre-LCI so I only know for sure on that model.
You can always try without change and if it doesn't work then you do need this change sorry for being sarcastic..

Hmm ... i have a 320d, which does not come with factory paddles, so i think i will need to do the modification myself. Let's just hope i won't mess them up for good, as i'm not that handy with the soldering tool

Hello
I am no electrician but can someone make a small clear picture with what to do take out the resistors and replace them for a small wire is that al ? The picture in the start thread is to dark to see what exactly you did maybe you can explain it in the picture with some line drawing I hope i can tell it later to some electrician and show him what you mean Regards Erwin |

Is this all I have to do to get lci paddles working? Is there no other rewiring needed?
I have been stuck with this for over 2 weeks and need to resolve the issue ASAP |

On each paddle's circuit board, there are 3 terminals for resistors (all 3 are positioned along a line). 2 terminals will have resistors on them, and one will be empty. Remove both resistors. Then, in the non-center (of the 3) terminal, which contained a resistor before you removed it, short the two resistor contacts with a wire (solder it in).
