It happened on W. 41st just past Blenheim as I was going home from UBC. The guy was real apologetic though, and pretty much blamed himself for the accident. Then he was all "Why you driving such a flash car? Sucks to be me, I'm gonna be paying a fortune!"

No kidding, upgrading to an M3 would be an opportunity of a lifetime. Unfortunately, that will not be happening any time soon.
Sorry, guess that means I'll be sticking with the M-Tech. Assuming I'm able to obtain it, that is.

Oh man, was that you? I love GTI's, and yours was definitely done up tastefully.

well assuming you can get the m-tech bumper and pay the difference for the upgrade, but which body shop will do it for you? i thought it's not possible since icbc is pretty anal about it~

how body shops can do it for that way is to just increase their labour costs on their bill to ICBC to cover the costs of the added labour and material costs to help you do your "upgrade"....

In my experience dealing with body shops, it can definitely be done, just pay the difference and would not increase the labour for something like a bumper.

Let's hope so then. Any recommended body shops that are cool with it?

Well my car is currently at MG Collision on Bridgeport. They're okay with the upgrade, so I'm just waiting on Lewis@MWDesign to notify me when the next shipment of bumpers arrive. I simply have to give the receipt to the bodyshop, and they or ICBC should reimburse me whatever the estimate was, and I pay the difference.
