Sony BD player. Anyone?

A bit of a long shot but would anyone on here happen to have either the Sony BDP-S580 or BDP-S480?

I have a couple of network related questions that I can't find answers to anywhere else.

Thanks for the offer but I don't think so. And after a week of bumping I've finally had an answer over on AVForums.

The S480 and S580 are supposed to support the .mkv container. Which they do via a USB. A first for Sony. But I was after a definitive answer as to whether they supported .mkv over a home network like eg the WD TV Live. They don't.

It appears I'll still have to wait for the perfect one box solution for under my TV.

Popcorn Hour is good. So is my WD TV. But really you'd think one of the big brands would step up and do everything in one box. Someone like Samsung would make a killing if they produced a unit that did DVD/BD/multi format support/proper network streaming/iPlayer. As it is you have to get one thing from one, one thing from another.

I have the wd tv but just use it as a back up for pics now. I found there were quite a few downloaded files it didnt support & locked up quite a lot so I bought a mede8tor with a 2TB hard drive. Since I have had a dm800 dreambox I hardly watched the mede8tor.

With the dreambox I can stream it to my pc, watch or download recorded programes to my pc / laptop & use my pc to set up recording events without the tv being on. That's not the best bit though but cant say anymore than that.
