Looking into getting a 2009 328i after figuring out all of my options.

Is it necessary to get a 09 328i under warranty? Or CPO

Theres a couple that i'm looking at, although i have one specific question:
For any 2009-2011 328i, If there is keyless entry, that means it has the premium package?, vice versa?

1. 328i Sedan. $26k, 34k miles /This vehicle was leased. Has Premium/sport Pck/and Navi/ Heated seats
FACTORY WARRANTY/MAINTENANCE UNTIL 11/18/2013 OR 50K MILES.

2. 328i Sedan. $23k, 40k miles/ Premium Package/ Heated from seats/ Navi/ Comfort access Keyless entry
Not sure if it has warranty.

Not sure if any of these vehicles have maintenance records

Assuming that your talking about comfort access when you say "keyless entry" the answer to your question is no. Just because the car has Comfort Access does not mean that it has PP. Comfort access is a standalone option as far as I am aware.

I wouldn't say it is any more "necessary" than driving with your seatbelt on (notwithstanding that ridiculously annoying and most incessant gong reminder..!).

Personally I wouldn't even consider a non-CPO used BMW. That's my choice. I was told "Take any roadside price, add $6,000, and that's what the same car will cost you as a CPO.". I haven't found the price difference to be quite THAT dramatic mind you, but definitely a few thousand at the very least.

To me, totally justified. I take great comfort in my CPO security blanket, although I have no illusions that any claim will be a walk in the park, but at least I feel like I have SOME leverage. No CPO and a major breakdown? You are 100% on your own, with no argument to BMW whatsoever.

Not for everyone, mind you.

Note: your listing says "balance of factory warranty.."?? Fyi: factory is 4 years, CPO is 6 (from day 1).

^Totally agree with you on CPO. I know for 335i mostly everyone will tell you to get it with CPO and I guess with a 328i it should be no different, I also agree with that fact that it isn't that much far off in price and just gives you that extra bit of security. Of course there are those circumstances in which you're able to get a car for a steal, in that case you can just get warranty from either a third party or BMW. If you choose to get warranty from BMW they will do that CPO process on your car and I believe your car also has to be under 60k miles? If they find any things that need to be fixed, you'll be required to pay for the repair before you can purchase warranty on that car. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm still a bit confused myself on how to purchase warranty for the car if you've just purchased it out of warranty.

If the car is still under factory warranty, my local dealer said they can get the CPO warranty added before the warranty ends for $2500. Seems like a good deal for an additional 3 years/50k miles. You could probably get a 3rd party warranty for $1500-2000 as well, likely to cover the same stuff.
