335i Service

Hi Guys

I'm due a service on my 335i, she has 69,000 ish miles.

Any ideas what is likely to be replaced/required or how to check this on the OBC? I could do without a big bill at the moment!

Cheers
Phil

take it to a dealer and give them a key and they will print off everything that needs doing including a quote

You can check yourself on the service menu on the dash. car has to be stationary to see this menu.

Lucky for me i have one of the best BMW indy's in the country on my door step (Darren Woods) theses guys have reduced my servicing cost by around 70% and do a much better job. Even if i had a 200 mile round trip i would hunt out a good indy v main dealer!!

I went into vines gatwick today. £310 for air filter, oil filter, fuel filter plus fluids etc..!

I'm gonna use birds in future but this is more convenient as I'm getting the injectors checked under recall too..

Thats a lot of money.
Filters shouldnt attract labour as they are so quick to change, even the oil filter.

Wasn't aware the fuel filter would be flagged at this mileage?
Anyone confirm this?

Surely its a simple strainer near the sender in the tank?
I have had a few out of dirfferent cars over the years, last being a Scooby and its a pointless job IMO.

Pretty sure the fuel filter is built in to the lpfp in the tank and is said to be a life time filter.

Phil, did you get called up for the injector recall or did you call the dealer to query?? I had all 6 injectors replaced under warranty April last year so I'm assuming I don't need to be checked again?

I might be confused about the fuel filter. I left the print out in the car..

The injector recall thread is here: http://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=550437

I never saw a strainer/filter on a modern petrol that ever needed cleaning.
Even on a 100k miles high performance injection petrol car.

Honda used to spec a clean on the S2000 at similar age IIRC.
Hassle job and not worth it - they changed a little strainer'sock' on the pickup pipe.
Modern tanks are plastic, or dont corrode - and the fuel is very clean these days.
