Sorry for the lack of updates, we've been pretty busy!

We've been testing with a 1M so hopefully we'll have some revised maps for that car soon! Next in line is working on some race gas and meth maps. But, you can get custom tuned for those kinds of modifications right now through shops that have AccessTUNER Pro. AccessTUNER Race testing is in progress and we're hoping to have it available soon and will allow the end user to share and create their own custom maps!

Finally, the v401 Beta maps should be out to full release very soon. We are still working hard on the boost oscillations a few Stage 2 users are experiencing on a specific ROM, but we are close to a resolution.

Now that I've got some more time, I'll try to be checking in on the forums on my at-least-once-a-day schedule. I apologize if you sent us a PM or question and got a slow response, but you can always email us: tech@cobbtuning.com or call: 866-922-3059

Ian,

FYI, I'm now getting a fairly large amount of black soot / carbon on my exhaust tips with the v4.01 Stage 1 aggressive tune, which never happened with the v3.

I've only gone WOT a few times in the 500 miles since I've loaded the tune. Is it typical to run rich during idle and/or part load?

if Stage2+FMIC from Cobb dyno links:
baseline 240hp
Drive map 335
Sport map 346
Aggressive 363
->how much those are crank about? 12.7% loss for MT and 15% for AT?
that calculation doesnt seem right...baseline 240hp is for sure over 300hp crank.

found from anothet forum Cobb answer to the low 240whp 335i dyno result / Lance / Cobb:
"In this particular instance, the difference is due to the 335i being an Automatic. We've observed a 5-10% loss on the AT cars compared to MT or DCT."

Yep, the N54 is rather under rated at 300hp from the factory.

How does 240 whp equal over 300 hp crank?

My car ran very rich at cold start idle on V401, switched back to v400 and no problems.

I actually noticed a huge increase in soot on my tips, and I wasn't sure what to pin it to. But I believe it started happening after 4.00. I switched to 4.01 this morning, but I'm wondering if v4 introduced something. I hope Cobb can talk about this since it seems to be happening to a few of us.

I'm actually rather disappointed about this because I'm focusing heavily on cosmetic appeal, and if they can't resolve this, I am going to have to switch.

I am extremely happy to hear it's not just me with massive boost oscillations on the stage2+ maps. I'm on IJEOS, are you focusing on this ROM when referencing above?

FWIW, the 4.01 stage2+ sport map runs silky smooth but the 4.01 aggressive maps (stage1+ and stage2+) are plagued with crazy boost oscillations that are very unpleasant.

All the reviews and dynos i have seen on internet shows that 335i produces
over 306hp crank.thats why i looked at Cobb´s dyno database and
thought the 240whp baseline must be also over the 306 hp crank...otherwise
it would the only one i have ever seen to have under the 306 hp crank.

It's big drop as well >10%. Difference at 60 to 80mph is 30 mpg+ avg on the trip computer became 26 mpg avg. with no real change in conditions between the days. I would suspect increased fuelling on partial throttle for some reason.

I recently updated to stage 2 sport.
A question for those of you who have tried stage 1 sport and stage 2 sport. Approximately how much boost were you seeing in each map? I am seeing around 13 for each, there wasn't really a big difference in performance from each map, perhaps there is something wrong?

Let me know, thanks!

A log would help to determine if something is wrong. However, I didn't fell much of a difference between stage 1 and stage 2(I actually thought stage 1 was funner to drive and switched back from stage 2.)
