INPA cable

There are alot of K+DCAN INPA cables for sale on eBay and amazon etc.

Can anyone recommend a good/proven one? Think I'll go for one of these rather than a BT cable..

Just bought this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-INPA-K-DCAN-D-CAN-OBD2-USB-INTERFACE-PROGRAMMING-DIAGNOSTIC-CABLE-UK-SHIP-/120882148418?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash =item1c25233442

Fingers crossed this will help diagnose my misfiring issues. I suspect it's the injector, so I can recode the new one with this too!

I'm looking for a cable myself and in a similar dilemma as don't know which one to go for!

Strangely the listing suggests a UK seller but has a foreign address registered for the seller?

Let us know when it arrives and if it is any good?

Not used it yet due to work commitments. I'll be giving it a go today using the download links provided on the eBay auction.

I would take a few days and read everything on the net first.
You can catastrophically screw up your car if you make a wrong turn.

God this is a nightmare... The instructions are pathetic!

Software apparently only works with Win xp, im trying to get it running through a virtual machine.

Hope it's not all hassle!

Which software are you talking about?
If it is inpa, you can run it in XP mode. no need for VM.

I cant see the link as I am on my phone but I bought the inpa cable and software of ebay a while ago. Originally I tried to load the inpa software onto my vista laptop and it just did not load when connected up to the car. I agree with the instructions are very vague and are set up for people using win XP.

To cut a story short I ended up buying a 2nd hand laptop (as I did not want to mess my home laptop up), installed windows XP (and with a help of fellow member on here) I got it to work. Now I can read simple codes and rest them - as I think thats al you can do with inpa

If you are around the west mids/Birmingham area I dont mind trying to help you set it up on your laptop or just want to read the codes

I've got windows 7 on one Laptop and Windows 8 on another.

I'll have to dig out an old laptop to set it up on Windows XP.

Setting up xp on a windows 7 machine seems easy enough. It's getting the software installed and working which is frustrating, the instructions are poor and when you think everything is working it comes up with error... Argh!!

I have done the same, bought cheap Xp laptop and installed all the stuff on it.
Did you go for upto 2007 cable or you had to buy new one covering post 2007 one?

The cable that I bought was for all models up until 2010 (think it included 2010 models).
