It actually is. Tow hook covers and headlight washer covers fall off while driving but they do commonly go missing while you're parked in a parking lot. Vandals or other BMW drivers who need to replace their own missing covers
I know but mine fell off i know exactly when it happened.

My timing chain on my 2.0 diesel was very noisy. Took it into the dealer and given a date to bring it back for replacement under warranty.

When I brought it back in they asked "has the noise got any better?" As if!

Many people get new cars, but then either have to move, get a job somewhere else, get a company car for them, etc. A lot of those cars start off as leases, and are driven very well until teenagers get their hands on them 10 years later and maintenance starts suffering.

Rest assured, whoever owns my car after me, you'll be in for a very good ride.
In the past, this would be true for me... I usually keep a car for 150k miles our so (3-4 yrs), and when it's time for sale, people are amazed at how clean and that I have every single service record. But with this 335xi, it's different. I'm really gonna run it as long as possible... Even to the point of replacing the engine and transmission... how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Who cares? How many hundreds of thousands of miles can you squeeze out of a 2011 N55 E92? I'll find out, and get back to you...

The guys in service do also...but it's usually "it IS a Honda." As in, "This car will go 300,000 miles! It's a Honda!"

This is more a funny statement, not a dumb one...

This past weekend I ordered a 228i, taking advantage of the 6-month lease pull ahead program. CA looked up my current X5 lease in DCSnet and it showed that it was Vermillion Red while it's really Black Sapphire.

Me: "Are you sure that's my car?"
CA: "Yeah. There's your name. That's the same VIN I wrote down."
Me: "But my car isn't red."
CA: "Oh. It must be a typo."
Me: "...yeah, the keys are like right next to each other."
CA: (laughs hysterically)

Not a BMW story but thought I'd share. Was at a merc dealer, Went in with my dad as he was looking for a new car, walked in and was looking at some normal c class models as it was near the entrance, then was like to the salesperson where's the amg's at, he's like to us id suggest the normal c class as they are out of your price range! This is without even telling him what our price range was, just judging us by our looks or something. Well long story short, ended up talking to manager and driving away in a brand new c63 amg edition 507, should've seen the face of the salesman as we drove off
