I agree with a previous comment regarding the sheer amount of these engines that BMW produced, the ratio of actual failures must be minuscule. I have a BMW warranty for my car anyhow as it's 6 years old now. I absolutely love this car with the 2 litre diesel. It's quick enough for me, is spectacularly good on fuel, the ride is fantastic and it looks gorgeous.

I'm looking at maybe changing mine and have seen a few 2011 320D's with N47T engine. What are peoples opinions on these engines?

Hey all, New to the forum and new to the N47.
Just sold my e92 and picked up a 2010 e91 (184) with 141K miles on it (FBMWSH, company owned) because I'm doing a load of miles for work. To my knowledge its never had any issues so I'm assuming its still on it's original chain.
My question would be, do I carry on as normal under the presumption its got this far,it can probably manage another 60k. Or do I have it changed now?
I've put 7k on it so far and it sounds fine to me. Any advice welcome.
Thanks

Pete
