that sucks, I have the enthusiast version

I can't even reset the brake pad mileage counter. I'm only 50% happy with my purchase.

Hmm pretty disappointed if this is limited to just the professional version. I guess its a good thing I have PROcede with the delimiter function activated and fully functional on that!

If you guys email them/ask maybe a few functions can be migrated over to the enthusiast version. Never hurts to ask.

I still think the Enthusiast version is a GREAT deal, considering the price of most things for our cars. The above point on where do you draw the line is a valid one. Is it worth the extra 500.00 for just unlimited vins? if the enthusiast version got all the features... probably not. Once development of the new features is more complete i wouldn't be surprised if some found their way to the enthusiast version.

It's funny to see so many concerned with speed limiter removal. Please tell me where you plan on driving 155mph+ on the mainland, so that I can avoid those roads.

The speed delimiter is different for sport versus non-sport. The 4 I listed are probably enough to get almost any modder to buy the enthusiast version. It makes up for the cost in one use.

why would you remove the limiter? and exactly where can you go over 155 mph? seems kinda pointless IMO.

maybe if we had an autobahn here!

are these your only options for max speed? this is not a speed limiter defeat, our cars with the speed limiter removed entirely, like with the Dinan flash, can do 180mph

I think the extra $500 for the pro version to have unlimited vins is worth it alone. I mean the only people that are going to buy the Pro version are mostly shops where they can make $50 or so each time it is used. THe enthusiast version does limit the diy'er, but we should have access to some of the pro features like the speed delimit for instance.

I agree with former_boosted_is

My top speed is only 130.

I didn't get the zsp, but I have all the zsp components in my car now. All I need is the speed limiter removal. Not that I will ever go past 155, but at least I can go past 130. LOL!

Btw: A 335i with 155mph limiter runs 165-ish according to speedo.
Mine only ran 145 according to my speedo.

This is an interesting development for sure.

Keep in mind a few things, though.

- Coding is not the same as Programming.
- These four options are hard-coded into the DME, so no alternate value will be accepted by the DME through this method.
- This coding option can only be set within the first few hours of a BMW's life. After this time has expired, the DME will not accept a different "code."

While I agree - I think they are already limiting functions between enthusiasts versus proffessional with the VIN lock down. Hell I would take a 1 VIN lock to have parity in features between the tools. The sales they would get selling individual tools would more than offset the loss of $500 bucks for the professional version.

So you are saying the 'delimiter' defeat doesn't really work on the BT tool because you tested it or because you read it somewhere on the internet and it must be true?
