Best set up for MV4 225M wheels?
What is the best looking set up to fit a set of 19" MV4 rims on a pre lci E90 saloon?
As their offsets are 37 fronts and 39 rears which I would have thought sunk in a little to much on an E90? I was thinking either 10mm spacers all round or 5mm fronts and 10mm on rears? BTW tyres are non runflats 235/35/19 fronts and 265/30/19 on rears. Another question... If spacers are fitted does this affect ride quality or comprise safety in any way? Cheers |

Raf,the E90 has a lot more room in the rear arches than the E92,so you could get away with 12mm on the rear.
If you can get 7mm spacers,I would favour those for the fronts as it will retain the staggered look and the overall balance of the car. Failing 7mms on the front,go with 5mm front & 10mm rear. Spacers will not impact on the handling or compromise the safety of the car, arguably a wider track will improve the handling. M3 CSL's generally ran spacers on track for the reason above. It goes without saying (but I will),obviously you'll need extended bolts, that does include extended bolts for the 5mm spacers, some don't bother,it's not something I would entertain. I hope that helps |

I find that spacers do change the feel of my cars - not always for the worst, just depends. I used to run 25mm rear with 10mm fronts, and then 10mm rear with no fronts, and even 25mm rear with no fronts and 10mm fronts with no rear on a previous car - each set up did feel 'different' but TBH, it felt best when I had no spacers or just the 10mm.
Now, I would only run same size back and front to keep the std ratio between front/rear track. Thats just my 2p and many people say they don't see any difference either way. |
