Dealer willing to replace HPFP, But I have no Symptoms -Advice?
Hello Everyone, I searched through about 200 threads on the HPFP recall and could not find anyone in a similar situation so please forgive me if I missed something.
At the first of the year, I purchased a 2007 335i e90 w/23k miles and worry free maint that expires in May of 2011. I called the local dealer here in Edmond Ok (Jackie Cooper) and inquired about it's service history. The service mgr says my vehicle has two open recalls, one for the HPFP and another for a software update. Here is my problem: My vehicle currenlty starts instantly and runs perfectly. I've seen NO symptoms what so ever that would indicate the HPFP is failing. That said, should I take in and have it replaced anyway? I don't want to push my luck, but maybe "If it aint broke, don't fix it" does not apply to Bimmers. Thanks in advance for your advice! |

I'd personally opt for it - if you ever decide to sell the car it would be nice knowing all the recalls had been addressed.
I can't imagine it would hurt or cause problems for your car? |

What would worry me is if the car has no problems, had a new pump when it was mgf'd, and now they go an put a remanuf. in. I would not want it unless somehow they flagged the warranty and voided it.

Thanks for the input guys. I just scheduled the appt for next week. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but I'm sure all will be fine.
On a side note, I can't tell you how helpful this forum has been in the short time I've owned my BMW. There is a ton of helpful info and you all really seem to be a great community. Thanks again! |
