My BMW was stolen...

Hi All,

Just a quick post, my 135i was stolen from the car park at my train station yesterday in Hampton-in-Arden, Solihull.

It's not rare, but I would say it's a very un-common spec and color combo.

Its a 2008 135i M Sport Manual with red leather, xenons, i-drive, 1M wheels, carbon performance spoiler and was on the reg V15 HCT.

Please keep an eye out as I am devastated, this car was to be a long term project/build car and it's been taken from me .

Thanks all.

Sadly the car hasn't been found and the insurance are handling the claim as a total loss.

Truly gutted, as currently I couldn't even replace it if I had the money, there are non on Auto trader with this color combo and mileage, forgetting spec.

I will probably be stepping away from BMW's, and frankly anything German or worth stealing, whilst I rebuild my NCB and park at the train station.

Really gutted as this car was a dream, after 4 months of ownership I still couldn't pick fault with it.

Sorry to hear that Vish. I suspect it's either been stripped for parts or has been put in a container & on its way to Eastern Europe.

Train station car parks are always a favourite for car thieves as they can almost be guaranteed 8 or more hours from stealing a car until it gets reported.

As for insurance company's hammering us when something like this happens is a disgrace.
years ago some shit tried to steal my E36 328is, they couldn't get it started so they kicked the doors in smashed the windscreen & jumped on the bonnet. I had it repaired but was paying an increased premium for five years.

When you do get another decent car look into parking it on someone's driveway, a lot of people near train stations now rent out their driveways or garages to commuters.

Thanks for the input, that is a good idea I suppose!

And yes they are bastards for claims usually. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I did some quotes today as if I was renewing my policy with 0 years NCB (as I will lose them now and I didn't protect them), and a recent theft claim, they only went up ~10%. I was expecting much more!

take a look into the NCB situation, if you had the option to protect I guess you had 4+ years, think a claim against unprotected NCB may only lose you 2 years? Worth a check anyway, I had some idiot hit my car at 3 year point while it was parked at side of the road and went back to 0 thinking that was how it worked but since then I think I've read differently? Think I maybe screwed myself out of a years NCB but thankfully I'm up to 9 now so doesn't really matter much (I always protect NCB now, just don't trust anyone else on the road!). Hope the car turns up in one piece, would be gutted if that happened to me :(

Thanks mate, its Hampton-in-Arden but not too far away.

I suspect its ditched down a lane somewhere, although its been a week now so probably been collected.

Such a shame as it has come at a bad time with all the other stuff I have going on, now no car for what will likely be 4 weeks .

Thanks, I have heard and read a lot about only loosing 2 years + the year you are currently working to when dealing with a theft claim which would be great. As I had just ticked over 5 years no claims (I just turned 22), and didn't have protected NCB .
