Question cpo question on SES light which had TSB...

Hey guys,

I dropped car off at dealers for a p0128 code which involves thermostat, but when service advisor called me he said there was a TSB out for reprogramming the computer to fix it. If thats true, should i still have to pay for my $50 deductable when i get my car on monday?

Im getting other stuff done thats not warranty so that pricing is fine.

Thanks for any help...

PS
The other work i brought up, which i think is an ok deal, was to have my swaybar bushings replaced with new hardware(whatever that means) for a total, after a 15% off coupon was $215 plus tax. Is that a decent price?

Thanks

The more I searched this site the more upset I am getting in regards to finding any information on the CPO deductable for a TSB released that is supposed to fix & clear my SES P0128 code I had.

Anyone on here that can give me some decent advice on what to do???

Well since its Sunday and I need to get my car tomorrow and wanted to know what I should do in regards to the above issue.

After 60+ views I was hoping someone could help me out...

P0128 means your thermostat failed in the open position...which is the way it's designed to fail. However it could also be tripped by a fault intake air temp or coolant temp sensor.

You always have to pay the deductible under cpo. I had to pay the deductible when I had my engine head replaced under the valve lifter tick TSB.

Can you get a copy of that tsb and post it here? I'm interested in this TSB since we have similar engines.

A TSB merely tells the dealership how to fix a common issue. At the bottom of the TSB is the billing info for the dealer to submit. It is separated into two sections; under warranty and not under warranty. If there is nothing listed under "non-warranty" then your deductible applies.

This may be a dumb question but whats a TSB? something service bulletin? I have the P0128 code and i told the dealership i think its the thermostat and they said its not covered under the CPO warranty, should i just tell them the code and hopefully they can reprogram the comp to fix it?

BS it is covered under your CPO warranty and TSB = Technical Service Bulletin
