Question Never been to Chicago (SoCal) - traveling there next Tues-Fri - what should I see

staying downtown for a business convention - what is a "must see" / "must do" etc...in my 40 years I never managed to make it to Chicago so I am looking forward to it

And no I am not looking for the best strip club (but thanks for the thought)

If you want the whole tourist thing, go visit the Sears tower (now called Willis), Millennium Park, get a burger from Kona's, a hot dog from Hot Doug's, steak from Smith and Wollensky.

+1
Visit Shedd's aquarium. BUT, do not buy a year member to get +1 admission for free, hrm... GREG. Lol, jk.
Worth it though.

As an individual who travels to Chicago for sites and views, I would recommend walking down the magnificent mile (Michigan ave).*

Shedd's aquarium is also adjacent to the planetarium and the museum. All great choices if you haven't gone yet.*

Check out the Navy Pier- really cool this time of year.*Worth it 100%

Architectural Boat tour rocks for tourist thing to do.
Go eat though.
You have Maude's Liquor Bar, Avec, Au Cheval, The Purple Pig, Slurping turtle, the publican...just to name a few.

If you are a beer drinker, make sure you try some 3 Floyds while you are here. If you can find some Zombie Dust on tap somewhere, you will be really happy! Boat tours are definitely worth it, Navy Pier is also worth a visit. Plenty of good restaurants, RPM is popular spot for italian, and Chicago Cut is right on the river with great views. Definitely check out Yelp, reviews are fairly accurate when you are looking for things to do.

Nothing beats a big beef, extra hot peppers, dipped, with a side of diabetes.
