OEM M5 Wheels Style 166 FITMENT HELP, Please.

Hey! My Buddy has some OEM 166 Wheels with tires that he is looking to get rid of, and is giving me a heck of a deal.

My question, Will it be possible for these to fit? I've searched around and most people who have wondered the same thing never really followed through. Of course it would be pretty aggressive, but what all would i need to be done?

What size tires would i need? assuming the tires included with the wheels will not fit on the front nor the rear.

camber? fender roll?..

Somebody please help me out, i have never needed any type of work done for fitments until now so im fairly new and need advice and help.
THANKS.

Fronts: 8.5x19 ET 12 13.27kg
Rears: 9.5x19 ET 28 13.27kg

To me, fronts are way too aggressive and you'll have some poke. Not sure but my hunch is you'd need some camber. Someone else will have to chime in.

Rears are slightly aggressive but will probably be fine with a slight fender roll.

You'll have to change to 3 series tire sizes as well: 235/35 front, 265/30 rear.

It wont work with the tyres those wheels have.

Style 166 specs are
http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/166

Here is E90 with same 8.5 et12 front and 9.5 et17 rear+ spacer
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=598490

So yes front can be fitted with like 215/35/19 maybe 225/35/19 and roll and camber.

This one is e92 with 19x8.5 et12 front and 245/35/19, BUT as you can see it's catastrophe waiting to happen. Tyre is way too wide.

As for the rear you need fender roll and depending of the tyre size i would consider small spacer, so it matches the front better.

Awesome, yeah i thought that the rears shouldn't be too bad. It's the fronts that'll be hard to get right. Thank you for your input man!

Hey man! I honestly don't mind that front wheel poke, as long as it isn't too bad, Otherwise it will look ghetto.

Hmmm.. i'll have to figure this one out. I think im going to go ahead and purchase the wheels. He's letting me have them for 500! So ill cash in on that and figure it out in the meantime..

A catastrophe you said, what exactly could possibly happen with running a really wide tire like that? Any serious things i should keep in mind?

The poke wont be that bad. They poke out 5mm less than 19x9.5et20 at front, what many people here have. But you still need the tyre to be stretched like 215/35 or 225/35.

If you have too wide tyre at front, it might hit the fender and bend it or some other damage to fender. I guess that's more of a problem if you are really low.

Here is 18x8.5 et 15 front with 225/40/18.

It's not exactly the same with 19 inch, tho.

It sounds like good deal and those real style 166 are concave.

Just keep in mind that a lot of cars with wheels that aggressive have some camber dialed in to get the wheel to tuck in

Yah it's not so bad and I understand I'll probably have to buy two new front tires and stretch them a bit. That's fine too.. I just really want them on my car haha.
Thanks for all the input guys!

Yah hah I've been looking into that too..man. I love the concave. I really wanted OEM M6 wheels but this deal came up and I guess the setup would be the same headache in the end anyways
