More about it here too.
http://road.cc/content/news/81677-no...video-incident What a wonderful justice system where idiots like this can get off scott free.. I doubt his business is doing that well as a result though I bet that RS3 driver thought he was about to be carjacked when the bloke jumped out of the van right next to him :-) Last edited by quattrogmbh; 05-05-2013 at 12:47 PM.. |

WTF was that all about?
He should be given an ASBO, fired from his job and loose his drivers licence. You see little man syndrome a lot on the roads as a cyclist. I once got cut up by a short angry bloke in a sh*tty VW Polo, he banged his horn as he did it, scared the sh*t out of me! When I caught up to him at the next set of lights, he did not want to know, just put his blinkers on and would not acknowledge me stood right next to him, looking at him. It's funny that they don't drive like that when I’m in the bm.... |

I don't understand how he could be let off with a caution for assault. Surely assault is too serious for a slap on the wrist?
The biker didn't deserve that but I wonder if he is another one of these cyclists that are trying to be awkward. They go out strapped up with cameras and loud horns wanting something to happen. The van was a bit close but I wouldn't say dangerously close. Ok it did move across a bit early but the van was travelling much faster with no chance the bike was going to run into his rear. When you start honking your horn at people you are going to get a reaction. It isn't justified getting punched about though. However a nothing incident was escalated by what might be another one of these cyclists with I own the road attitude that are popping up everywhere. |

Just looking at the other videos of the guy and he is one of these do gooder cyclists.
If he is going to make his bike wide, honk his horn and shout at fellow road users, sore face number two won't be far behind. |

I see him filming people using their mobile phones and not concentrating on the road.
He is more interested in filming people than concentrating on the road too. He is his own worse problem with his stinking attitude. |

Cyclists don't pay any road tax nor do horse riders therefore have no place on the road. Leave it to those of us who pay the taxes :-)
And use the cycle lanes where they are provided or are they too narrow for the normal three abreast riding style?! |

As some one who uses a bike almost as much as a car, I'll happily pay extra to ride my bike on the roads, get insurance for the bike....but only if all car drivers start actually following the highway code, obey signed post speed limits, and those that break the rules get some decent punishment (eg: More than just a caution for assaulting someone)

On a more serious note whilst that guy should have been charged the guy on the bike appears to be on some kind of mission. Looking at his other videos it doesn't take a genius to work out that he was going to get a good kicking one day. Not that I'm defending that thugs actions in any way, looks like a right bell end! |

Cycle Lanes. These are marked by a white line (which may be broken) along the carriageway (see Rule 140). Keep within the lane when practicable. When leaving a cycle lane check before pulling out that it is safe to do so and signal your intention clearly to other road users. Use of cycle lanes is not compulsory and will depend on your experience and skills, but they can make your journey safer. 66 You should: never ride more than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding round bends. https://www.gov.uk/rules-for-cyclist...rview-59-to-71 |

I've been knocked off my bike twice, once by a driver running a red light, the other by a driver pulling out of a junction without checking both directions. In both case I just got up off the floor/ground, picked up my cracked helmet and rode off....life's too short to start arguing with stupid people at the side of the road. |

Don't agree that a bad cyclist ignoring the highway code just annoys a few people, he may well cause an accident making others swerve to avoid him because he jumped a light or may well get run over and killed for the same offence and leave some innocent car driver feeling pretty bad about the whole thing.
Reasonable cyclists I have no problem with, others who flaunt the rules I do have issue with. |

Another road cyclist here and I pay 3 lots of VED (not road tax) for cars as it is. I'm not paying another 3 hits for each of my bikes. You can take a flying fuck to yourself with that idea. I do however have insurance for when i'm cycling. One of my main reasons for doing so is that whether driving or on my bike I see more cars being operated in a twatish manner than any other mode of transport.
There have been loads of campaigns over the years regarding car drivers being more aware of motorcyclists, give them space, look twice etc etc. Can't ever remember seeing one about cyclists. It's like open season on cyclists and twats seem to think there's something macho about having a "i'm a fucking driving god and these are my highways" attitude. Actually, you are a quadraspaz fucktard (general comment not aimed at anyone here).
