With a 4000 stall you will need at least 3.7 to 3.9 ratio. Like you say, worry about that once its running

So I'm terrible at keeping up to date with build threads.
Underneath shot of the glide bolted on. Anyway, got the fabrication work all done finally. The exhaust is 3.5" with twin 3.5" mufflers at the rear, no cat's etc. wastegate is plumbed into the housing for better boost control. Finished up the water pipe for the water pump. made the cold side piping all one piece and moved the BOV to a tidier location. the hot side, holy jesus it's tight, looks like a decent amount of room but once the oil cooler, air con, all the turbo lines, intercooler pipe, wastegate, screamer etc all go in, it's a fucking mess. Some progress all together shots I've mounted the auto tranny cooler in the left grill just infront of the condensor, hopefully it gets enough air there. I'll update a pic of it mounted tomorrow. haha Engine bay is looking cool, I go overseas for a week on friday so tomorrow is my last day I can spend on the car. fuelit! stuff arrived today so tomorrows job list is. Fit headlights Fit carbon bonnet Fit front bumper Plug everything back in and make sure it works Wire the inhibitor to the CAS module so it starts Fit the reverse light switch to the shifter and plug the wires in Fit the billet transbrake button to the shifter and wire it to the relay Wire the secondary fuel-it pump to the JB4 Fit the antilag module for the JB4 Double check all the wiring for the PI kit Fill the transmission with tranny fluid Buy MAC valve and some 2 pin plugs and wire it in Run the silicone vac lines to the wastegate and for the BOV Change the cars VO from auto to manual Setup the JB4 for the PI, extra pump, 4bar map etc Pull the tune from the DME and adjust it to suit new setup Pray that when I push that stupid button the shitbox actually starts. Fingers crossed I fly out for my holiday friday with a massive smile on my face knowing my car actually runs! haha. |

Can you post pics of the exhaust, did you go single 3.5 inch pipe all the way back and y pipe near the mufflers? Custom downpipe?
Show mufflers and tips

It will not be.
This car is a fairly expensive paper weight right now. Cant get the NCS expert to work. keeps giving me a VIN error. shitbox. Also it has a fuel leak coz someone forgot to put a bung in the PI rail. woops ^_^ And it has a coolant leak from the billet block. Maybe I had a brain fart and forgot to put the O ring back in. oh well. Transbrake works at least. haha. But yeah. basically need to work out how to get NCS to connect so I can change the VO before I can make any progress and considering I am away for the week jambo is out of the question. I don't exactly trust other people to work on the car I plan on doing warp speed in haha. So yeah, disheartened by today a little bit, but it did feel awesome when it was all together for the first time. Just in time to pull it apart anyway. dumb car |

I honestly have no idea. I'm a mechanic not a computer tech apparently I need to remember that haha. I can't event work out where to download a copy or follow the instructions at all. Sorted all the little dramas today and it's finally ready to run. Just downloading some 80gb virtual machine version of ncs which someone else had success with so going to jambo to race with my old workplace tomorrow (101 motorsport) and Sunday I'll have a go at this coding thing again. Frustrating knowing thats all that's holding it back from driving now lol. Holiday was sick. Got engaged and had a ball. |

Follow this guide:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1204192 Ull have to modify some system files from memory in system32 folder to get it to work, maybe that is why it won't connect. Or i can lend you my mrs now my computer i formatted specially for bmw standard tools haha, nothing else on the computer other then coding software. Also for coding vlt on forums is the man I would also say im pretty competent now, seems i coded out/fixed a problem that had very little information on the net about... shoot me a pm if you get stuck.. pretty sure your the lad i was talking to with the m sport wheels? So got some time to myself today motivation was high after jamboree yesterday so I got stuck into it.
Changed the radiator over as the one I put in had a hairline crack and leaked sigh. what a painful exercise that was haha. Changed the engine oil and then got to coding. Finally worked out why the fuck my shit thing wouldn't work. so got it to code, removed the $205 from the VO and coded, car starts and runs but still seems to think it is auto, throws codes CD99, CD9E and CD9D. comes up with transmission fault on the Idrive. So I'm not sure what it's problem is, thinking maybe I need to reset some module that thinks it is still auto somewhere? I'm lost with this shit. Just finished tidying up the last of things, let it warm up and heat cycle on the stands. ran the auto through it's gears, checked all the fluids, bled coolant etc. Just need to do a bit of wiring in a moment to stop the car freaking out when I disconnect the 2 left over plugs from the auto and then I'll take it for it's first drive. |
