bent rims, should I repair, or get new?

So here's the deal, like so many lucky souls I have become a victim of the New York pot holes. My winter rims (style 285) have minor bends on the inside lips on two of the wheels. My summer rims ( style 290) 3 bent rims one of which is actually ripped. So here's the question. do I have these rims repaired or shop for something new? I'm not really looking to sink a bunch of money into the car(2011 328ix) as I am Planning to upgrade in a year or two. If I can get a full set of new rims for a little more than the cost of repairing the old ones it might be worth it, So I guess what I want to know is, can I buy a nice set of rims that would be superior to OEM.(stronger, lighter or better looking) for under a grand?

Yes.

Whatever you do, just make sure that the new set and you should be fine.

I would double check with a wheel shop and see how severe the bends are and if they are repairable. There are definitely wheels out there that are under a grand. Shoot me a PM and I can go over some options with you.

Get a quote to see how much it costs to repair your wheels. Some bends are going to be pretty straight forward and easy to fix, while others may be too far gone to be repaired. You could definitely find wheels for under $1,000 though, like most of our 18" options!

I think Id rather stick with 17s. I already have tires and its my understanding that the bigger the wheels the lower the tire profile. I need to end up with something less likely to bend, 3 rims in a week is more than I can afford.
