Need help. No black dots when trying to connect with INPA

This has been a more than frustrating experience so far. All I want is to be able to read codes and register my battery. I have no interest in coding at all. I bought a BT tool and found out its not compatible with my computer. I ordered a DCAN cable from onestopelectronics and now I can't even get that to work. I've followed the DIY many times and nothing I try works.

I'm running a windows 7 64-bit ultimate laptop with the virtual XP mode. I've loaded the necessary FTDI drivers and made the necessary settings. The only thing I have left out is the editing of the obd.ini recommended by the cable seller because I can't find an obd.ini file anywhere in the downloaded files. So I'm stuck at step 12 on the DIY and have no idea how to get it to work.

I also noticed that there are 3 unidentified devices in my device manager after loading the FTDI drivers. They are all labeled Virtual PC Integration Device.

Please help.

The obd.ini file is located in the c:drive\ediabas\bin\obd.ini Open that file with notepad and edit the com Port of which the dcan cable is using. Once you finish save and copy that folder and paste that folder in C:\windows
The obd.ini file needs to be in two locations to work.
Without doing this the connection will never happen

Thanks for the tip. I checked that folder and there is no obd.ini . There is a obd.dll and obd32.dll.
