I'm not sure if I should believe it or not.

I thought I was doing alright till I saw the £110K voters - I'm not one of them by the way

Still £100K isn't that much these days

I didn't actually vote on the poll as I thought it was badly designed (sorry Carlo$ ). My income is over £1,000,000 a year, and the thought of being put in the same category as some poor person that only earns £110,000 a year made me decide not to vote

The point I'm making is that its all relative... as I think has been mentioned previously.

Having your own "successful" business allows you to make money others (normal employees) can only dream of. However there are always penalties ie time and family life (sorry squeeze). So its not alwats a bed of roses.

But on the other side you get multiple houses, nice(r) cars the option of sending the kids to private school , (massive divorce settlements- again sorry squeeze) and various other choices that wealth brings.

in the grand scheme of things 110k per year is NOT a lot of money.

Depends who earns it as well.

If you have a family with one person working and the other looking after the kids then a £90K income is around £57K after tax

If both work and earn £45K each then the income is around £62K after tax.

I don't think that's fair.

BTW - that difference in income would finance a BMW 330i

I think it also depends on the business... someone that lives along the road from me has a successful newsagents (their own business) - but I certainly wouldn't swap my 'normal' job for it
