Which would you choose?

Between a mini Cooper S Suoercharged, A JCW of the same model or the newer Turbocharged S?

Thinking of buying one as a stop gap for a year or so - as I\'m currently in the middle of buying a house. They hold the value very well, so, financially, either model would be a no brainer, if I find one with the right spec/colour.

Depends how many miles you'll be doing in it, the older supercharged ones are very thirsty......

+1 of the old supercharger being thirsty, but my god it was fun! it used to pop lots on the overrun as well

You selling your 330d then?

I'd keep the 330d.

Aside from that it would be the JCW and a paper bag to wear while driving it!

They are great fun, but I'll need to balance the cost of running out. The old Cooper s from 2004ish can be found at around £6k with lowish miles and good spec. But, as mentioned, is a thirsty bugger!

The current R56 on a 2007 plate, average miles and half decent spec can be had for £9-10k and it MIGHT come with the balance of a 5 year TLC pack. It will also return between 38- 40mpg.

Just going to bring my car out goings down for a few months. Then get back in a nice 3er when I'm settled.

The mini seems to be the best choice as they hold their value very very well after the first 3 years of depreciation.

I just think they're great little cars

Go for the later model, the Turbo. Will be much easier to resell when the time comes and its a nicer drive.

The Co2 & Fuel consumption of the supercharged ones will make you cry.

Garage List
Mrs had a cooper s clubman.
Cracking little cars, they go fairly well for a 1.6 turbo and ours returned between 36-40mpg depending how you drove it.
You get little pops and crackles out the back them on the over run as well.
