Anyone else noticing their mileage slipping? Mine has gone from 10.9-11.1 to around 11.9 now. True traffic lately has been a real pig, but I'm surprised at this mileage change...

Winter deep freeze is my guess.
I feel bad pushing start when my car sits outside at work...I can imagine how much gas it eats for the first several kms. BTW how's the weather in Calgary? Flying down tomorrow for a business trip. We're hitting -39 here in Edmonton tonight.

Mine just won't heat up in city driving (even after 10-15 minutes), so it eats lots of gas at these temps. I think it is because we have more cooling power than reg. 335, which is counter-productive in cold temps. |

Difficult to show you guys what this chip can do without having each of you test drive the car. Its more than just a power increase.
After a day of driving in a mix of highway + streets: - Throttle response is greatly improved. I felt like the stock ppk tune left the initial 20-30% of the throttle semi-unresponsive. JB4 seems to have a more linear throttle feel. - Boost is definitely there. You can feel whether you are accelerating from 0-100 or 100-180. The car is really a rocket. Cant imagine what it would be like with additional bolt on mods. Really cool feature of the stage 2 integrated can tool is the gas gauge hijacking for boost gauge. Shift lights are pretty neat too. - I'm monitoring consumption since I installed the tune. It may not be completely reflective of the JB4 yet since I am driving a bit more aggressively to play around with it. Also, I think it will take a little bit of time for the car to adapt. I'll wait till I put a few more km's in with the tune before I come to any conclusions. |

Where did you get the tune done? Is it better then the just released Dinan Tune?

JB4 is a plug and play tune. It piggybacks on the ECU. You can install it yourself. Its very easy to install and you can find the DIY on the burger tuning website. I'm sure the dinan tune is good however it costs a small fortune. The JB4 tune will accomplish the same thing for a fraction of the price. There are also lots of great features built into the JB4 in-car dash controls. Data logging etc are also very handy if you are a bit more technically inclined. I would take a read through the threads about the different tunes in the engine forums to get a better understanding of what each offers etc. |
