does anyone know if BMS is going to come out with a heat shield in the future for this product?

Everything terry does is always backwards compatible OR he gioves you credit towards the newer items. Great business strategy IMO.

There is no difference whatsoever in the Oil Temps. An intake should not effect that though in my opinion.

The reason I get on it and then off the gas is so you can hear the intake sounds. Think about when you drive your car, when does the exhaust get loud? That is why I get off it because all you will hear is my stock exhaust sounds from that point on and we all know what that sounds like. I can shoot video of a full pull but trust me, all you will hear is 3.5k of intake and 3.5k of exhaust.

I personally cannot see how in the world a dealer could void anything on your warranty with this mod. Literally it would take you 15 minutes to rebolt it up before your service visits anyway.

Has anybody heard this intake and the Logic Motorsports HVI in person?? I watched the videos and this one seems to make a more pronounced sound, but I'm not completely sure as the car in the HVI video seems to be louder. Do they both make about the same noise/sound?

Maybe someone who has purchased the HVI can chime in about the sound? If not just shoot me a Pm bush_bia and I will send you several sounds clips and videos. Dont want to side track this thread.

Best Regards,

Haven't had the chance to sit and rev my car to compare the open hood sound (reving your engine like that in most towns/cities is a no go over here.) Based solely on the video on this thread, from the inside the BMS turbo sound does seem a little quiet compared to the HVI. (The turbos make the same type of of sound with both intakes though.)

That video mutes everything guys because Youtube compresses the tar out of video. If you want, I will email the uncompressed 16 bit stereo audio to someone if they can host it. It is about 5 meg.

very nice. so the sweet spot for the whine of turbo spooling is 2-3K rpm. Just ordered myself one.

In full throttle, the turbo whine/whoosh will be maxed before the exhaust notes get loud. That means under partial throttle, when you floor it then you will have the sound. At lower rpms in 2nd/3rd the sound is very noticeable for a while. It first, the gear just goes so fast that you are in high rpms immediately.

The great part here is that you get a dyno proven filter for $100 or so. That is what makes this almost unbeatable.

im just worried about heak soaking. . . I mean. . . that stock air box gets HOT, and this thing is basically like a BMC filter, or another K&N filter, but just rolled up in a tube, and with no heat sheild. Not knocking it what so ever, matter of fact I'm even seriously considering it. But I want to get all the heak soak issues cleared first.

Ran into too much trouble with intakes back in my E46 days.

The argument will come up all day long in my opinion. Heat soak in a turbo system is much more related to pushing turbos beyond their volumetric efficiencies and intercooler efficiency. If you are looking to spend more money, but the BMS intake and a more efficient intercooler. IMO, dumping your money in a more expensive intake is wasting money that could be better used elsewhere.

We are limited by the stock fuel system now to boost levels. The intake is about air flow as is displayed very well by the high hp supras. For $100, why not buy it and sell it if you don't like it. I suspect you will like it thought and this is coming from a guy who's last car was a 500+ rwhp E46 killer.

It sounds nice doesn't. The stock hood does an excellent job of quieting down all the noise though. Here's my setup, and it's LOUD!! No need for a BOV for me!!!!
