max size spacer using stock bolts

did a quick search and didn't find any similar topics.

What is the max size spacer you can run without getting longer bolts/

i have staggered ltw and contours and square setup Kosei K1s from the e36 m3 and would like to try the michelin pss i have.. slicks on the Kosei...

41mm offsets compared to 37mm stock and having clearance issues in the fronts...

a 5mm spacer should fix the issue though i have a pair of 12mm that i'd like to try.

minimum 7 thread turns?

No way I'd put on 12mm spacers without longer bolts.

I don't even think you can use stock bolts with 5mm spacers, so there would be no way of even using stock bolts on 12mm spacers. I would just invest in proper bolt sizes for peace of mind.

0mm spacers. Really anytime you add spacers you need new bolts. Now if you're just playing around with fitment you could get away with it but I wouldn't drive on them!

Can usually get away with 5mm but it depends on the length of the standard bolts. I'd do it to see if it was what was needed but then get longer bolts. But if doing that you may as well get bigger spacers too.

BMS sells longer bolts in different sizes for like $25/5 pack. Your life and car are worth much more. Spend a bit, be patient.
