3 year service next week, advice?
I got my 3 year service coming up next week. My dealer is running a campaign where the checks are for free, they change oil and filters for free. everything else is additional charge - say to pulll the codes and run diagnostics on motor is 50 euros, and so on. I can just go with the free check and be done with it since they look at suspension, etc, but I wonder if there is anything else I should have them change on the car which is not covered by the regular check-up.
May be have them look at the alignment? Change oil in gearbox or differential? Anything else that would be good preventive maintenance? Should I ask for software upgrade? My steering column was throwing out error codes few months ago after the car was stationary for 2 weeks, and one time had a car on ramp signal. Worht looking into? ... Kinda don't wanna be stiffed by them you know - hey we gave you free service but we need now 2000 euros for new steering column and your battery is naother couple hundred euros, thanks. Car has done despite the age only 30k miles btw.

1.) The prices my dealership charges for an alignment are really high. I never go there.
2.) If your car isn't throwing codes anymore, I wouldn't waste my money on a software update. |
