Down Pipes?

Do aftermarket DP's throw a CEL? Do they let you pass emissions? What do you reccomend?

Thanks!

Are you talking about catted or cat less downpipes? You will need o2 sims with either most likely as BMW has tightened their o2 tolerances in their newer software.

Catless ones will always throw codes without an O2 sim and proper adjustment. Catted ones shouldn't throw any codes.

Catless downpipes w/ O2Sims will not throw codes. However, if you use the catless dp without he O2Sim you will get a check engine light.

Mike
I got the new version when I bought my AR 3in DP's used.

Will have them both installed Saturday.

Heard this fix is A MUST and look forward to giving feedback.

I would suggest anybody that needs this mod contact Mike at N54 tuning. Great customer service!

Off Topic - Sorry to jack the thread....

Anyone know if you have recently bought a CPO with an extended warranty and want to cancel the extended warranty - BEFORE you go over 4 yr, 48k mi, can you do this with BMW, or, are you locked into your sale. I'm considering asking my dealer. I just want to mod the car and use an independant dealer, and pay for whatever comes up. I know, I'm a little different. But I've found a great place that I like giving my business too, and, I think they already do a better job then what's been done with BMW already (HPFP / Injector). Thanks.

Why cancel it? Just get your car worked on wherever you want. If you don't want to have BMW fix your car at their cost go to any service provider and pay out of pocket

Some catted DP's can even throw codes with the new BMW software 37.x I'm lucky and have not had this happen, but there are those who have.

I have RR catted downpipes and since yesterday I get a CEL despite installed o2 sims. How is that possible? By now I had no problems. I got the CEL after a high speed drive on the German Autobahn (about 180mph).

Codes:

2C9F AfterCat 02 sensor heater input signal, BANK 2
2C9C PreCat 02 sensor heater input signal, BANK 1
2C9D PreCat 02 sensor heater input signal, BANK 2
2C9E AfterCat 02 sensor heater input signal, BANK 1

Any ideas?
