it does look like a vacuum.

Schumacher for the win! (if it rains)

he has an advantage cause one of the corners is named after him, right?

Pirelli to try new tyre in Germany

Quote:
Pirelli will test their updated soft tyre during Friday's practice ahead of the German Grand Prix.

The Italian manufacturer has revised the characteristics of its soft tyre in an attempt to make it more durable.

With the soft tyre degrading at a rapid rate, teams have been forced to make numerous pitstops and Pirelli do not want the number required to become excessive.

"It's not a big change from the current specification, but it is designed to fit in line with our latest versions of the P Zero Silver hard tyre and P Zero White medium, both of which are a little harder than their original specification in order to reduce degradation," said Pirelli motorsport boss Paul Hembery.

The Briton added that Pirelli would be bringing the original soft and medium tyres to the race in Germany.

"The Nurburgring is one of the most technical circuits we face all year, with a lot of lateral energy going through the tyres, and this makes strategy very important. Although they sit next to each other in our range, there is still a significant difference between the P Zero Yellow soft and the P Zero White medium tyre, as we saw on the last occasion that this combination was used at the Grand Prix of Europe in Valencia," he explained.

"The biggest difference will be the weather, which could be a lot cooler than the conditions we saw in Spain. This means that we expect most of the teams to adopt a two-stop strategy, unless of course it rains, in which case anything is possible."

haha, will do. I have a fully modded italia that I use for that. but 2 things:
well, 3:
1 - I am always afraid of cutting, and forget that there is NO penalty
2 - GT5 and its menus and loading times try my patience
3 - I'm used to driving in F! 2010, so the twitchiness of cars in GT5 (i.e. back end) makes me turn off the console mid race more often than not lol (for the record, I used to either lower my times on the track with my 135i, or spin out... no grey area)

Haha that would be crazy if it was at nordschleife. Don't think I will see another F1 race there in my lifetime, very dangerous indeed. Would make for some nail-biting entertainment however.

Go Ferrari.

DRS zone for Nurburgring confirmed

Quote:
The Drag Reduction System (DRS) zone will start at Turn 10 at the Nurburgring, the FIA has announced ahead of the German Grand Prix.

Motor sport's governing body also confirmed that unlike the European and Canadian Grands Prix, the German circuit will have just a single DRS zone.

The detection point will start at the entry to Turn 10 and drivers will be able to active the rear wing from the exit of Turn 11.

"The Nürburgring is always a challenge, usually because of the weather, which is often threatening, whatever time year a grand prix is held here," FIA race director Charlie Whiting said.

"The DRS zone has been set for the straight before the tight chicane, so we should see some good overtaking. There's always good action at the first corner: it's nice and wide, with a variety of lines, which gives drivers an opportunity to pass."

Usually I'd go for F1 2010 to enjoy the race weekends, sadly it was Hockenheim in 2010, forcing us to use GT5 this year. And we're still 2+ months away from F1 2011.
