OEM Wheel Finish Pitting
Anyone have any luck getting dealer to re-condition OEM wheel under warranty. Between the winter/salt and brakes dust last few months they are looking not so good anymore.
Will take picture tomorrow. |

I would not count on it since BMW discounts any responsibility for "environmental" conditions.
I don't know of one case. What is your justification? |

Well outside of the brakes and dust the body paint and trim is exposed to the same conditions as the wheels and their finish is holding up just fine.

Picture of OEM pitting on wheel
Wheels looked just fine before this Winter. My 135s wheels did the same thing right about year 4 as well.
Dealer want over $100 to re-condition them. Looking for owners in same boat and other ideas? |

Okay here is what you do use microfiber towel and simple green on the wheels. It will take it off. I had pitting on a e36 m3 from 6 years of the car coming out worst than that. It took a bit but everything came off. Clay bar it w/ quick dealer after and WAX your wheels. DO NOT recondition them. This happens to me all the time. I drive for 6 months not cleaning my winter wheels and I just scrub it away. You can even use goo gone on these. I did on my winter wheels. Try to dilute it with some water before you use it. HONESTLY you can easily save these wheels. I used this when it was hard to come off. Dishwasher scrub pad lol. Its good. WORST CASE SCENARIO use magic eraser on your wheels. USE VERY LIGHTLY! I had over 20 sets of wheels so I know a thing or two about cleaning up keeping wheels. |

Thanks guys...everyone likes options. Will try cleaning once mother nature welcomes Spring here in WI. And if that fails or few years down the road can give the duplicolor silver wheel paint a go.
Is the 'duplicolor silver' brand specific or just generic? |
