Fortune Auto Coilovers for x-drive

Just got word from Gary and Alex over at Martin Motorsports that they will begin carrying Fortune Auto Coilovers. I'm not selling anything and I have nothing to gain out of this. Just passing on the good word.

I had never heard of them before they brought them up, but after what they told me and from digging around the web, I feel like they are a good option.

Basic 500 Kit Details:
-$1500 with camber plates
-linear springs
-hand assembled in the USA
-Possible swift spring upgrade
-Completely customizable (valving, spring rates, stroke, remote resevoir, etc)
-Go low
-5 year warranty

Again, I have no firsthand experience with these, just know that Gary runs an honest shop and I can vouch for him. From my research, they have a solid track (Redline Time Attack Evo) and hard parker presence (240 and evo guys). And any shock maker that is willing to custom valve AND provide the dyno gets points in my book

Also, make no mistake, the 500-series are not masquerading has unobtanium European coilover. I feel like these have ST/KW/H&R as their competition.

Here are the links. For more details call up Gary.

Looks like a good option. I just emailed FA to confirm that they do make an xi specific set. If they do I may jump on these

Give Gary a call. He is their point man for BMW development. As far as I know, the only BMW kits they have produced are on his personal/shop cars. They may not have an x-drive kit currently, but will likely build it if Gary requests it.

Edit: Just got off the phone with Gary. If there is enough interest, I'll drop my car off for measurement/fitment so they can fab up the kit. Owner of FA is also pretty local, so he can probably do hands on. We'll see.

there has to be interest, however...lol

I talked to Chris at FA and he indicated that the had no plans to develop an xi kit so if Gary can push them to get it done that would be great. I for one would absolutely buy a set if they produced them and I suspect that a fair amount of other folks would as well. Just look at the interest the BC and Megan coil-over threads got... they could probably sell 10 or 12 kits right off the bat and IMO they would be the best optioned kit available for the xi. Given the similarity in price you would have to be nuts to go with KW V1s over these. That's my 2 cents anyway.

This. I looked into it a few months ago, and at the time, at least, they said there was nothing planned.

If someone could take in an xi for measurements and such though, that would be awesome. Subscribed.

How much interest are we talking about here? I can try to round up all the folks that showed interest in the other threads if thats what we need.

Alright, I'll schedule to get the car measured/fitted.

If one of you guys wants to set up a list, that would be great. I'm trying to stay out of this to remain impartial and not give the impression I'm getting kickbacks and/or a vendor.

right now we have 3 tentative?

Cool. Thanks for getting that going. Depending on the number of people, Gary will do a Group Buy special. Unfortunately, Fortune doesn't sell direct to customer.

More details to come.
