1. Question:
Don't quite understand the question... du kannst das auch gerne auf deutsch beschreiben.. vielleicht machts dann mehr sinn.

2. Question:
Yes it's obvious and outlined on the shifter how to shift

3. Question:
Unless you know how to make your own circuit boards and have the time to spend on testing everything i'd go with a no.

4. Question:
all that comes with the kit

Hi Schulrog.

Your German is really good. Next time you are in Munich I will give you a tour :-)

Thanks for all the answers.

Can I order from you just the electronic wiring? The problem is that I have a good friend that can get me the baseplate and shifter for a really good price.

It would be nice if you could do that.

Best regards,
GG

haha yeah my German should be really good. I'm from Nuernberg originally and lived in GAP for half of my life. dated quite a few girls in the Munich area I wasn't kidding when i said that the kits are german engineered

the shifter has to be modified itself as well so even if you got the shifter at a good deal you'd have to send it to me to make it work with the harness.

Sexymexy's new shifter is looking good. Any pics to show how it sits now ?

Also, mind showing where's that new 'cutting line' is ?

Garage List
I would use a dremel with the Abrasive Cutting Disc mounted on appropriate mandrel.

You will get a much smoother and accurate cut than a hacksaw, and it will be ez to manuever (instead of unwieldy hacksaw)

Ok guys... From the stalk's top to the big part were it sits in is 3/4 of an inch or for those that use metric sistem it is 2 cm with that the shifter sits perfect. Use a dremmel with a disk and use a big clear bag to catch all the metal dust.

Hi All,

Got some bad news here... After so much time and $ invested in this, the DCT baseplate is no longer an option... when everything was tested it worked fantastic but unfortunately nobody ever thought to shift up and down in DS mode and unfortunately when you shift up (+) which is pulling back there is not enough room and it hits the baseplate. Sexymexy is toying around with it and we MAY have an option to still make that work for LHD vehicles but RHD vehicles definitely won't work.

So what's next? I have modified the harness to work with the OEM baseplate perfectly. Furthermore, I designed it so you can have 2 options:
1.) Have the PRND LEDs on the baseplate light up as well as on the DCT shifter
2.) Disconnect the harness from the baseplate and everything will still function 100%. This is so if you choose, you can bondo the PRND area and have the baseplate painted... that way, the PRND is not visible at all.

OEM shiftboots will be stitched to the DCT shifter for perfect fit.

That's real bad news for me
I'd love to have both the dct knob and baseplate combo right from the beginning

Why wouldn't we be able to shift + in steptronic mode now? The dct baseplate has a smaller base area for the gearknob leather boot as compared to OEM baseplate?

And there's a difference in the leather boot base area/shape between the LHD and RHD baseplates ? Both looks the same to me. I still shift the gearknob to the left side for DS and -/+ mode.

yeah but the shape is different so it seems that the actual hole for the leather boot is in a different location as well. Simon sent me pics of the RHD and it off by about 2 inches where the LHD is off by maybe 1/4 inch.

ok might have jumped the gun on this... it'll all work out i think

sexymexy is sending me the baseplate and shifter back and i'll make the necessary alterations and send it back to him.. if it works we're money. If not then there's no hope at all for the new baseplate to be used but i'm pretty confident at this point so we'll see shortly if we have a winner
