Guys,

I was checking out my shifter stalk on the weekend, thinking I might attempt cutting it,
following the recommendation on the website to remove 1&1/4 inches.

What I noticed was that there is a black ring that stops the new shifter sitting all the way down,
so I got scared and stopped.

Roger said I need to remove it but not sure how ?

Moves just as regular shifter - just has the neat lighted indicators on the knob

Schulrog, Looking at my shifter, I would like to get the DCT boot and baseplate instead of having to get the boot sewn onto the knob. Thos parts will be available, correct?

OEM BMW Performance shifter is like 150 bucks so this is a good deal considering work invovled to make it work. Let's hope it's well done and won't throw codes a year from now.

Well on the new baseplate there would be no gear indicator. The manual boot would work too though I imagine.

Well, it looks like I'm gonna have to bow outta this one - back when this started & I signed up in the beginning of August; I assumed it would have gone thru by end of September/October at latest.

I simply have more important places for my $$ to go by end of year than car mods - like payin off our condo in MB, Carribean vacation, & hefty tuition payment for the last kid in college.

Hope someone else signs up and this goes thru for ya...

I can fill the gap for the GB, I need to change to RHD shifter with baseplate.

My LHD shifter I bought and have not installed from Roger is also now for sale, it has my leather boot already stitched in, you can see pic from my previous post on this thread.

Brand new including wiring harness.

PM me if interested
