So on Friday I hand my 400BHP 135i over and pick up a 335d MSport Coupe (2010) model so better engine and gearbox and 0-62 in 5.9 seconds. Are there any switchable maps out there and which maps are the best ?

I was looking at Superchips and DMS. The map I want needs to be a lively one not one that is built more for the "stock Feel"

Not even close. A 135i with JB4/Procede/Cobb on Tune only will pull on a 335d with JBD set at 100%. I've done 30+ runs with friends. Results never vary. 335d only pulls when 135i is stock.

The 335d has some mid-range 'advantage' but its gone by 85 mph.

Guys, notice the OP lives in England, and bought a coupe (not that it matters, except we can't get one over here). He may very well have options for a switchable solution, since their DME is different than the one we have.

OP, I suggest you start with Evolve, but also it would be a good idea to visit the UK subforum, as there are numerous d owners there that will be more familiar with a 'local' solution.

Thaks for all the tips, advice, comments. My 135i also had 589 ft lbs of torque so it really was a bit of a beast.

I must say, now I have had a play in the 335d I am really impressed. Stock figures quote 5.9 secs to 62 MPH.........I think in reality it is less than that, maybe closer to 5.5 I know of evolve I had an FMIC and a Dyno run done by them. I will give Sultan a call there to see what he says. Does anyone know how the Evolve map compares to the DMS one ?

I understand "fast" is a very subjective term, but it always strikes me as odd when people say the D is not a fast car. My bone stock diesel has had several run ins with trigger happy 335i's, 550i's, V8 Mustangs, etc. and not one has been able to pull past my doors. Even a number of dedicated sports cars have not been able to pull ahead of its taillights, among them a Nismo 350z and a Porsche Cayman. Hell, I even had an encounter with a couple of cool older guys in a Corvette who couldn't believe my car was a diesel when they failed to pull past until well into extra-legal speeds.

Unless you're in the regular company of Ferraris and Lamborghinis, I'd say the D is definitely a fast car in every sense of the word.

To the OP, congrats on the purchase. A JBD should satisfy any cravings for extra power, and even stock the characteristics of the diesel will make for a most enjoyable driving experience.

Is that some sort of British pounds you're talking about? If you were making 589 pounds of torque then that's a world record

I am pretty sure he is talking about crank ratings and not to the wheels.

589 at the crank is at least 500-520 at the wheels. I get 520 pounds to wheels with every damn thing upgraded including turbos

Dynos in the UK state at the crank so you are correct to have that at the wheels with stock turbos would be near impossible
