That's unkind, but not unreasonable.

If your car is low enough, it can be a SERIOUS pain to get it onto the lift.

Pain in the ass aside, I think they probably charged you because they wanted to have recourse if your car got damaged.

If the try to lift it, and bend something, or break something, or otherwise cause damage because they were trying to lift your car and it's that low, then they have to file insurance, etc, etc, blah blah blah and get your car fixed.

If they CHARGE you, their either going to come out ahead (like they did) OR if they damage the car in the process, they've offset their deductible a little bit.

I don't charge people who's cars are too low, but It's not fun.

Also, I'm sure they called you BEFORE the work was done, and asked for the money, right? if they performed the work first, and then told you to pay, you are in NO way liable for that money, and they legally can't charge you a SINGLE DIME you didn't agree to pay before they performed the work.

Obviously the car needs to get lifted, stock or lowered. The difficulty, and I assume the extra charge, was for getting a lowered car safely onto the lift, as ///Matt said.

And I also hope they called you first.

Dealership in Roanoke knows they have you by the short hairs, and can charge you anything they want for an extra 5 minutes worth of work.
