Hey guys! Well, I got a reply from BavAuto.com. They weren't able to sponsor our meet but offered to give us $100 in savings certificate to offer out as a raffle.

We have a choice of 2@$50 or 4@$25.

Let me know what you guys would rather have.

I'm still waiting for JMK BMW and Paul Miller to reply to my e-mails.

See their reply below:

Dear Scott,

Thanks for getting in touch! Sounds like a fun event. Is that the Bear Mt. on the Hudson? Beautiful spot.

Other than a handful of official CCA club races/drivers schools (like the NJ charity event), we don't do any cash sponsorships. What we normally do for gatherings such as the one you describe is provide $100 in savings certificates that you can use as door prizes/raffle items. If that's of interest to you, let me know whether you would prefer 2 @ $50 or 4 @ $25. Also, an address for shipping (no P.O. boxes please -- UPS only).

Happy motoring,

Jay

I think 4@25 would be better giving more people to get in the fun. However, Im surprised that Alpine6spd hasnt cowboy-upped and gotten his dealership to pull anything for this...

Kelvin, you should edit the first post and let people know that there will be 4 ($25) gift certificates from BavAuto.com that will be raffled off at the BBQ.

My dealership in parts SUX. They dont want to give anything for free. They wont even match morristown prices. This is what I am stuck with unfortunatly. I wish I could help. I would get 4@$25.

I will do my best to make it that day. My wife has a baby shower to go with and my Mom is going also so I dont think I can get a babysitter. I would love to bring my son but its a lot of work with him alone. Everyone from the Mitsuwa meet knows all about this.

Can someone put up an actual TIME on the first page, not just the date? Would feel silly getting there at 9 when everyone is getting there at 12 or vice versa.

There was talk about some meeting up at the Sunoco Station at the southern end of the PIP and then meeting up with others at the Mobil station across the NY/NJ state line and then head up to Bear Mtn.
Whoever's organizing this thing needs to post time and exact location of the meet. It would not serve the membership well to have folks circling around looking for a meet location.

Also, did anyone find out if you can reserve a picnic area? This looks like it's becoming a fairly large meet and you need a location that can accommodate everyone. A total head count is advisable as well.

after the mitsuwa meet yesterday, headcount is deemed useless and complete waste of time.

as for the arrangements, Bimmer335i07 is organizing it.

Then I suggest everyone bring their own picnic lunch and scrap the plans to BBQ for a undetermined number of attendees.

If someone can post the physical address for the Sunoco and Mobil, then we can start the ball rolling. From what I recall, the Sunoco rest area comes before the Mobil. I would say that the people meeting at the Sunoco should arrive around 8:00 A.M. and depending on how far it is from the Sunoco and Mobil, we will setup a time to meet at the Mobil.

And can somebody volunteer to be the caravan contact for the Sunoco rest stop. So, that way people can call to let you know if they're running late or not. I will be the caravan leader for the Mobil rest stop. And when you guys from the Sunoco locations gets to the Mobil, then we will all drive to Bear Mountain together. And as long as every car has a FRS radio, then nobody will be left behind.

As far as the BBQ is concerned, I will try and bring a cheap disposable grill and some meat. Since, it's still a month away, we still have some time to organize.

We might have to start a new thread soon too, so that people won't have to read through all these posts.
