Tire shine
I'm wondering if anyone has used Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel?
It looks good, and I'd imagine it lasts longer than the "Hot Shine" spray I use now, but is it worth the price? How long does 16oz of the stuff last?

You'll get the maximum durability out of any tire dressing by properly prepping the tires prior to applying the dressing. Grab a scrub brush and your choice of a rubber degreaser and make sure the tires have a clean surface prior to applying the dressing.
Blackfire will last through a few washes. It doesn't have that super glossy look, but a nice medium gloss to it when it's freshly applied. It does last longer than most water based dressing though. Personally, I've been using Optimum Opti-Bond lately. It's a concentrate that dilutes to 1 gallon of product with their 32oz bottle. Has a great semi-gloss look to it and very easy to apply compared to a gel. I apply it using a 4 oz pump spray bottle, 2 thin coats, then go back over the tires with the tire dressing applicator to ensure even coverage. Make sure the tires are prepped properly though! Hope this helps. |

I usually just use a rubber dressing like I would use in my engine bay. It's not highly glossy but it gets them to a deep semigloss black, "clean" look. It doesn't sling either.

I have SEVERAL different tire dressings & use 4 the majority of time.
My list in order of preference: Optimum Opti-Bond (long lasting, good gloss & no sling) Chemical Guys Silk Shine (perfect amount of gloss w/ a matte finish) Blackfire Gel Zaino Z-16 (this stuff will sling even after soaking in for a day) |
